Do you wear clothing and footwear with Union Jack tags?

I own an applewatch

A few people have chastised me for donning such apparel. I honestly have no idea why.

So what if my Reebok shoes and jacket have a little UJ flag on them? Who cares?

People have actually got aggressive over it! I've been called a Tan cnut and been told to fcuk off back to England and suckle on the queen's titties.

Any other people deal with such morons?:rolleyes:

I think most Irish people say English when we should say British,But guess who I blame?thats right-I blame the English, I grew up watching the likes of Dad"s Army on TV.and the song "who do you think you are kidding mr hitler if you think old ENGLAND is done"; Also remember that Lord Nelson said that "England expects........; so maybe we take our cues from the likes of that??

Context is important too imo. When some loyalist inbred is wearing it, it's not good. But when someone who simply grew up in Britain has/wears a union jack, no different to anyone having the flag of where they're from.

It represents Britain and Britain's history - good and bad and diverse.

Hard to take anyone seriously if they get offended by the union jack yet consume mountains of British culture (sometimes even contributing to the British economy in doing so).

Oh for God's sake, you don't know me at all. I regularly criticise the self loathing types you refer to, who like to put us down and call us backwards (but not themselves) and I did not do the "We" thing at all, so relax instead of making rather excitable assumptions and leaps.

I can still however simultaneously hold the view that cutting the tiny union flag badge off pairs of jeans and seeing it as a big deal for the t-shirt of a band whom I love, to have a union jack on it (yet still no problem collecting the rest of their merchandise) is laughable. And worse again, if the likes of that pettiness is from people who consume masses of British culture.

The George's cross symbolises EDL ugliness to me (generally speaking - it's not always the case, to be fair) but the union flag represents a hugely diverse society (including many Irish people) and I associate it with that rather than oppression, because symbols can change over time. To me it represents ordinary British people and British culture.

I sported a pair of British Knights back in the day. They were popular and never had any issues wearing them. Think they had the flag on the tongue.

I was totally aware of the terminology (union Jack Vs Union flag), but for the purposes of this thread I chose to use Union Jack, simply because the majority of posters on here wouldn't even know or care about such things

We all live in the British Isles. ANyway having a problem with the Union Jack on a piece of clothing, such as Reebok, is a complete and utter moron.

A flag actually represents nothing worthwhile. Its just a symbol of division between humanity.

Evening feeling national pride is encouraging division.

Having said all that Im Scottish and I made sure I have Scottish flags on my number plate and I have a Saltire flying high too!
