TK Maxx - most awesome store in Ireland??

I go in there, and I could just buy, and buy and buy.

Normally, clothes shopping, it takes me forever to find something I like and that's in a suitable price range.
I picked up a couple things in River Island a few weeks ago and hell, I'm thinking I'll return them now and better spend the money in TK.

They just got a great selection of real quality things, and totally affordable prices.

Jeez - I sound like a marketing commercial.

Now, normally, when it comes to clothes etc, I wouldn't give a rats furry ass.
I certainly wouldn't make a thread declaring the great bargains I just got; but in this case, I have to make an exception.

Basically filled my closet with all the clothes I need, totally happy with them, and I still have enough left over to party this weekend.

Are there better clothes outlets out there that don't charge upwards of 100 euors per item of clothing??

I don't quite understand why TK Max hasn't put the rest of the clothes stores totally out of business yet.

Hmm, mixed responses.

In terms of the items being cluttered, I'd have to agree with the fact that, there's actually only a short space dedicated to items of the same size so, often there's not too much rooting involved.

My only complaint is, jeans.

Although I only have to look in a short space, they have them divided only by size so, if I'm looking for boot-cut by example, I have to inspect each pair individually to find the type of jean it is.

That being said, it's not so bad.
Just throw in the headphones, turn up some Pantera to get the adrenaline going, and begin sifting!!

I think its fantastic for odd things like say an occasion outfit for kids, a handbag or something nice for someone's wedding gift or birthday or that. Amazing for baby stuff for gifts and toys!

I wouldn't shop there for all my clothes though, far too expensive and as I'm plus size theres not very much for me there anyway. Get the odd pair of shoes there sometimes. I mostly shop online for myself or go into new look, debenhams or penneys.

Still, love having an aul noodle around there.

TKMaxx is my idea of hell. No order by styles, by sizes. Have to spend ages sifting through stuff and even when you find something nice, it still costs a ton.

Bugger that.

Remember when that factory collapsed killing hundreds? It wasn't just Penney's that was there.

Pretty much all clothes are made in a third world country under poor conditions. What makes you think its only Penneys?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Motorola use a factory that work their employees so hard in such horrible conditions that they see suicide as the only way out.

I do a bit of shopping in TK Maxx. Mainly basics for work and bags. I tend to go first thing in the morning when the store is quiet. The sore I visit seems to have the store well laid out by clothes type and size so there is not too much rooting. I find it good for knitwear and I tend to buy lots of scarves there. The kitchen section is good.

I've picked up a few nice things in TK Maxx's homeware section but I honestly can't see the appeal of their clothes at all. I've rummaged through it a good few times & find the vast majority of their stock hideous, regardless of the label attached to them. So this jumper is reduced from €150 to €70? So what! You'd have to pay me €150 for me to wear it.

Can't stand TK Maxx, the whole shop just looks like my idea of hell. I prefer Burton, myself, Moss Bros. for work shirts.

I can't pass TK Maxx. Got some really good stuff there but never spend long as I haven't the patience. I was in a store in London recently - way better than any of the stores I've been in here in terms of selections and quality.

I'm sure there are some half decent clothes there if you search hard enough but not many. Others got me a few kids things there and except one winter jacket the quality was very poor. The stitching that didn't last or material was fairly poor quality. I feel that even when discounted they are overpriced. I much prefer to go somewhere like Kildare Village where the shops are nicely presented and you get the feeling there is actually a bit of respect for stuff that is sold.

I've rarely gone to TK Maxx, I choose the places I shop at by how easy they are to access. When I'm shopping I have two requirements, the legal requirement to hide my shame, and the biological requirement to stay warm. This makes decisions easy and I can buy everything I need within seconds once I locate them.

I love shopping but I have never even set foot in a TX Maxx. Doesn't appeal to me at all for some reason. Seems like a nightmare to navigate to find something decent. No thanks. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Went in there the other day to buy a jumper and ended up spending €300. There's a god awful amount of crap to sort through, but you do get some good bargains. Like the housewares section as well, never know what you might find, even though that section of the shop does look like a jumble sale.

It's is handy for socks and jocks. I usually gamble once a month in there and have got some good Under Armour stuff. Some of their gear is awful though.

The homeware section is decent enough.

The clothes are junk though. It's just full of the crap that the original retailer couldn't get rid of.

I used to buy things in there occasionally. now I only really buy socks or accessories. but it's physically nauseating at times. most of their stuff is awful and most of their customers look poor. not to mention that horrible feeling of following each other around like a herd of cattle. I'd rather buy one or two nice things in Kildare village than a bucket of their ****e.

The only people who really enjoy shopping in the clothes section of TK Maxx are the sort who enjoy shopping for its own sake. The sort who believe in "retail therapy" & are happy to while away a day going through the rails in search of a "bargain". Don't get it myself.

I don't usually sift around the clothes often in their St Stephen's Green store in Dublin. It takes an awful lot of effort to look through all of it.

The book section is quite nice to look at. I found a great bargin of a large book about DC Comics for €20 a few weeks back. The same book that I found later on in Easons in O'Connell St on the same day would have cost me €46.

Their recent new-ish store in The Ilac Shopping centre is very large though. The amount of floorspace there is unbelievable.

for a start most people in there dress terribly. obviously they buy cheap clothes and it's very visible. you can't buy an entire wardrobe in tk maxx without looking poor. you can supplement your wardrobe in tk maxx with some casual stuff, perhaps to be worn hanging around the house. but most of the stuff from tk maxx looks like it came from tk maxx and you shouldn't really be wearing their stuff on a night out or to work if you want to make a good impression.

Love TK maxx myself as a guy i have got some crazy bargains in there over the years.

Got a ted baker blazer there a few months back 130 euros you pay about 400 in BT for one and the crazy thing it was a 38 long my size LoL.

If you know your brands and have your phone out for a google if your stuck about something and wont to see what brand it is its a very worth while shop.

Fantastic place for getting shoes for work. They useable have 100% leather shoes incudeing the sole being leather very hard to get in Ireland for about 120 euros thats a bargain as the brands that they would have are 300 + euros in BT.

Also if you wont to wear very out there stylish things its the place to go as you will also find something that stands out.

Socks are also great in there go to the bottom rails and you can pick up 3 pairs for 5 euros that will last at lest a year way better then anything you would get in Pennies. Boxers are very hit and miss i find as i like one kind of style low rise hipster and there quite hard to get in there but when they have them there useable cheap like 10 euros a pair.

Outlet shops and designer outlets are my fave kinds of shops as you never know what you might find once you walk into the place.
