As a young lad on the bounce I used to love me some re-runs of George and Mildred and had just assumed the actor that played old George (Brian Murphy) would have been kicking it in the here after (as hadn't heard tell of him since) but not a bit of it, the old fellow is alive and well (was in Holby City last year).

Frighteningly, I don't think I'm now too far off the age of George was supposed to be in that show. Yikes.

So AH, are there any old codgers that you had presumed must have croaked it by now but are in fact still breathing?

Norman Lloyd, who starred in some Hitchcock films and is best known for playing Dr Auschlander in St Elsewhere in the 1980s (as well as the headmaster in Dead Poets' Society is alive and evidently well at the age of almost 101.

For some reason I always assumed that Michael Porter (the guy behind Porter's five forces) was some old, long gone professor until I found out he was in his 60s
It probably has something to do with the mindset of artist work only being recognized, after the artist has passed away.
Moral of the story is to never assume, in order to avoid making an azz out of you and me

You dont really believe he is still alive? Around the time that George W.Bush was encouraging the Cubans to rise up Perez Hilton said he paid good money for information that Fidel Castro had passed away. I havent seen him since Raul (his younger brother) took over.

I think he is dead in real life.
