Buckingham Palace defends footage of Queen's Nazi salute

Buckingham Palace has defended footage from 1933 that shows a young Queen performing a Nazi salute with her family at Balmoral.

The film, obtained by The Sun, shows the Queen, then aged six or seven, join the Queen Mother and her uncle Prince Edward, the Prince of Wales, in raising an arm in salute as she played alongside her younger sister, Princess Margaret.

That's like getting a Celtic cross tattoo and then going to a football match in Italy and realising it's a white power symbol.

She didn't know the symbolism when she made the gesture. The only people it will upset are those who don't like her, or the Royal family, or "Brits", or even your "West Brits" and who will insist it's significant.
