There a lot more own writing insted of adaptive writing in this season supposedly , its obvious where. I hope they learn from it and give another think through before season 6.

My dad absolutely loves movies like Ben Hur, Gladiator, Spartacus...

He had never heard of Game of Thrones or even knew what it was about. But he walked in as the gladiator scene had just begun and he said 'this looks great' and sat down.

He was loving it, making all the 'ouch' noises as they all struck each other, then the dragon flew in.............. And he walked out.

Great episode. I guess the older generation can't appreciate good dragons.

I get all this and but it still makes no sense to me. I guess what I'm trying to say is it's a weak storyline.

The son of harpies are orchestrated by the rich families not loyal to the new queen, one of the other 2 cities either yunkai or astapor was back under a slavers control to there might be involvment there to. The idea of Dany marrying your man was to marry into one of the wealthy families and thus gaining their approval.

The Sons of the Harpy, we had assumed, were working for The Masters
Dany made a decision, in an atempt to stop the bloodshed, she would marry Hizdar (One of The Masters) and reopen the fighting pits (out of respect for their culture- it was seen as to UNITE the Former Slaves and The Masters)
Everything seemed to have stopped- Daario indicated that it was because Hizdar was leader of The Harpy's and he had ordered them to stop
In this episode the Harpy turned up and started killing The Masters (including Hizdar) - indicating they are not in alliance with any of The Masters

The One Harpy they had captured and maybe who we could have figured out who they are was killed by the one of the Former Slaves (Who Dany then executed, leading to the necessity to open the pits as this caused tension in Meereen)

I'm not getting all the hate for Stannis, to be honest; he was clearly upset at doing what he did, and his whole storyline tells us he fanatically believes he must reach the Iron Throne at any cost: he asks for his daughter's forgiveness and embraces her after giving his little speech about "doing what is necessary", and given his current position he really had no choice but to shít or get off the pot. He believes in his claim so much, so righteously, that he is willing to sacrifice his own humanity to do what he needs to do.

Maybe that little girl might be ok yet? Her having that greyscale must symbolise something, right?

He burned his own daughter alive, I can understand the Stannis hate. I was rooting for him.

I had great respect for him. First man off the boats and first to scale the ladders at Blackwater. Wouldn't ask his men to do anything he wasn't willing to do himself.

i enjoyed that episode.

thought drogon was a gonner to be honest when he was pierced by those spears - they really seemed to stop him dead in his tracks.

whats the point in having 8000 unsullied or whatever she has when she wont use them? they only ever seem to be seen in little groups and the few she had in the arena with her in this episode was fairly pathetic to be honest.

I know the sons of the harpy are employing hit and run type tactics but theres no effing way professional soldiers should be dropping like flies against a rabble with daggers.

even if theyre predominantly suited to fighting on an open battlefield surely they would've had extensive training in hand to hand and close quarters combat? I know who id fancy in an encounter between a professional battle hardened soldier and whats basically a civilian with a knife.

Ser Meryn is actually the biggest cnut in the whole show imo, blindly followed kings orders tore sansas gown in the grand hall, testified against Tyrion. He is actually the person i have wanted dead on that show the most, Janos was second.

He also beat up Sansa a couple of times, and testified against Tyrion at his murder trial. And now we know he's also a sexual predator. My guess is he'll be the subject of the horrible thing that happens in the finale that we can feel happy about. We'll probably need that little lift.

Dorne really has been awful though, nothing of any substance and those sand snakes are laughable. The only thing good Dorne produced was Oberyn last season and your ones tits this season.

Stanis is doomed to fail, everything is too black and white with him, he has no loyalty or love, he's cold and distant and doesn't have the head for the politics of Westeros.
