You're welcome zete............thanks to RedFM who did a great tweeting job. I have to admit that I was keeping a close watch on Jose the special one at Stamford Bridge and took Giles' advice before the match and backed the frogs. Dunphy of course got it wrong again.

Yes it's Kerry next week in Cork who will be out for our scalps big time after the senior result on Sunday. The animals are bleeding and a wounded animal is a dangerous adversary. We need Maguire back fully fit, as well as Brian O Driscoll starting. It seems Kevin Crowley got a black card early tonight and was replaced by Cian Kiely. Dan O Callaghan Clyda who was only on the extended panel published on Corkgaa website replaced mid fielder Murphy after 38 mins. I think Murphy was injured, but not sure of that. It appears that Andrew Murphy St Michaels started the game but he was replaced early by Kevin Davis Skibb who scored two points and made a difference. Harkin at No 12 scored 1-2 and his goal came at a vital time when Limerick were getting dangerously close.
We have a huge panel of good footballers but only a week to sort out the selection. Interesting times for sure in rebel land.

Midfield is the big big problem now for the Kerry game .....TTM was on about Ian Walsh playing well in challenge games etc...but he did not it seems make the panel...

He didn't even make the extended panel either.
Wouldn't worry too much about mid field as Kelliher can do a job there even if he is slow and cumbersome. Expect Alan O Donovan to move from No 10 to No 8. He was impressive in the Sigerson when he came on as a sub and scored 1-1. Fine big strong man who can play a bit too.

I would not be sure about O Donovan at midfield ..looked strong and tough in the Sigerson alright ....you need out and out midfielders at this level not sure we have them without Maguire...

How did Andrew Murphy do at midfield the other night? Was glad to see him coming in, would have thought he'd have been starting along the half back line tbh but he's prone to injury which might have hampered his chances

Midfield was dominated by Limerick. Both Cork starters were off by the 37th minute.

Peter Kelleher is an out and out midfielder and he has to be out there the next day. He is certainly not a full forward anyway

Agree with you there slingerz, but unless he has improved dramatically from his minor days he won't do long term at midfield. Might fill a gap next week against Kerry if he has a strong grafter with him. Being on the senior hurling panel is no help to his football either and Aidan Walsh is the best example we have to highlight this dual impossibility.

Good thinking to give Martin exposure to high octane stuff without the added pressure of TV cameras. He's had a busy 7 days, so here's wishing the young man lots of luck.

Some unfamiliar names in that squad. That's a very strong half forward line, has pace and strength and of course all three have bag loads of hurling. This is probably the biggest test for our half backs so far in the league.
A very strong mid field also, Walsh will have his work cut out for him with Tannion.

Looks like this could be a tough game in galway and hard to call given both teams are on
equal points. Galway with the home advantage could shade it. lets hope cork pick up from where they left off last weekend.

The pitch in Pearse Stadium was relaid over the winter and it hasn't bedded down and knitted together properly yet. It's not good for football at the moment let alone hurling. At least the weather seems to be OK for the weekend. Any rain would make it a swamp.
