No list of radio channels there (that was the question!).

I seriously doubt Nutley Boy has any interest in Saorsat, unless they're located somewhere like NI, & are thinking of a Freeview + Saorsat setup. Much more likely by 'combined dish & aerial' they mean Saorview + UK satellite.

Just posted in the wrong thread due to lack of knowledge.

If you dig a bit on that site, you find this.

    http://www.rtenl.ie/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/RT%C3%89NL-SAORSAT-FAQs-Mar-2012-Rev-1.1.pdf

The radio stations are exactly the same as are found on Saorview.

The link was pointless if you have to go digging!

Alternatively a link to any of the satellite channel list sites gives that information in an easy to find and direct way.

Anyway, it appears likely that the OP wasn't even looking for a Saorsat radio station list ;)

Someone who currently has UPC, says they've just bought a 'Saorview TV', & is talking about a 'dish & aerial' setup, is not really looking for info on Saorsat.

They're just mistaken as to what Saorsat is.

Wish this would be available on Sky @ astra 28.2e also. Any sign of TG4 HD for sarosat (9e) or on astra (28.2e) for that matter?

can anyone check the paramaters for this mux on 9 East? Are the PIDs and SIDs the same and what about the test cards? Thanks

TG4 HD would be great for Saorsat, just watching a western from tg4 I recorded from Friday.
Think we may have to start writing to TG4 (cúpla focal)

I think the issue with 28e is that sky would have to pay for transmission of either TG4 HD or RTE 1 HD

True enough - hope to at least see TG4 HD make it onto the saorview/saorsat platform sometime soon eitherway :D

I got the diseqc switch set up on the box and tuned the saorsat channels in on the satellite portion of the box. I was able to split the feed coming from the dish so i have it on both stbs.

I dont really need this as the box has saorview but i just wanted to see if it worked.

Can you please confirm the PIDs and SIDs for Saorsat? I know what they were before RTE 1 HD started but what are they now? Also, are the two test cards still there? And what about the radio staqtions? The pre-RTE1 HD line-up was:

    5101/5201 (5201): RTÉ ONE (MPEG4/SD)
    5102/5202 (5202): RTÉ TWO (MPEG4/HD)
    5103/5203 (5203): RTÉ NEWS NOW (MPEG4/SD)
    5104/5204 (5204): TG 4 (MPEG4/SD)
    5105/5205 (5205): 2RN Test Card (MPEG4/SD)
    5106/5206 (5206): 2RN Test Card (MPEG4/SD)
    5017/5207 (5207): RTÉ Jr (MPEG4/SD)
    5018/5208 (5208): RTÉ ONE+1 (MPEG4/SD)

    5226 (5226): RTÉ Radio 1
    5227 (5227): RTÉ 2FM
    5228 (5228): RTÉ Lyric FM
5229 (5229): RTÉ Radio na Gaeltachta
    5230 (5230): RTÉ Radio 1 Extra
    5231 (5231): RTÉ Pulse
    5232 (5232): RTÉ 2XM
    5234 (5234): RTÉ Gold
    5235 (5235): RTÉ Jr Radio/RTÉ Chill

Can you fonfirm that the PIDs for the new RTE1 HD are the same, as as the SID? Thanks.

It would be great, unfortunately it might need a second transponder on Saorsat.

I'd love to know the point of the two testcards; if they were removed TG4 HD could probably replace TG4 straight away.

    Hi
I have an Opticum X7 series free to air and have lost all the UK channells. I would really appreciate any assistance in retuning. The kids have watched all the DVDs and I have failed miserablely in trying to retune. I think I need the settings as the normal Auto Installation dosent work.

    Much appreciate any help
    B

I suspect you've lost all the satellite channels but continue to receive Saorview terrestrially (if, indeed, that's a word!). Can you check you still have a valid satellite signal input?

If yes, try - Menu, installation, satellite installation

If no, check connections both at X7 end and at LNB.

    Hope this helps

Any images for the new test channels

    Hi Macker,

In the past we had a total of 18 channels after a scan.
    8 tv, 6 channels
2 test screens and 10 radio

Now we have a total of 30 channels.
    20 tv, 7 channels with RTE+1 twice
4 test screens and 10 radio.

Both RTE+1 channels are working perfect and RTE Digital aertel works perfect on all channels.

On the test screens we have the 2rn colourful display, 2 are playing Lyric and 2 playing RnaG. However only two of the test screens have TXT subt in the info bar.

The Walker Saorsat approved box also comes with a Sat Free (Freesat) mode.
Recording function is also very good.

Channel lists can easily be edited.

Overall the box is very very simple to use.

PS. I will post more photos as boards only allow so many in each post.

    Cheers, FRIENDO

Sorry about bad quality and reflection on photos, have no curtains at the moment.

Hi fryup, Saorsat has been available a couple of years now, it's mainly for homes that can't get a reliable Saorview signal, approximately 2% of homes.
It's available on a very tight footprint which covers Ireland with some possible overspill.
    It's not available over Europe.

    Hey FRIENDO

Did u assign those EPG numbers or are they automatic?

I was under the impression there was no LCN on Saorsat

    @fryup
No, however some reports on boards from West Wales and West England (Devon).
In Ireland you need an 80cm dish and possibly a 100cm dish or bigger in West Cork.

No matter what size dish you have in London, Manchester or Leeds you won't get Saorsat

Yes. We return the favour to Northern Ireland.
