Gardai and UK used pan european for years but remember reading somewhere about speed wobbles and UK discontinued and have since been going mostly for BMW, Yamaha.

Honda lost out big as they use to be the most bought.

ST1100 Pan European was standard Traffic bike for a long time in Ireland & UK.

High speed weave only affected the STX1300, which AGS never bought.

That FJR is on trial from Wales, also has 'Heddlu' on the front, just to confuse the hell out of the natives

I really like the new Coast Guard livery, it stands out as different to other ES vehicles. The old livery was way too close to the Garda livery.

Need the discos to tow the big boats. The last load of hilux purchased didn't have enough towing capacity.

I THINK ITS RIDICULOUS THAT AGS DOESNT GET A FLEET OF LAND ROVER DISCOVERYS OR X5S ETC AS WHEN THESE ARE PURCHASED THEY ARE A 5 TO 8 YEAR INVESTMENT , WORKS OUT LESS THAN A I40 WHEN YOU BREAK IT DOWN, TRUST ME THOSE HYUNDAI SANTA FES ARE LOVELY TO LOOK AT BUT ARE VERY SMALL ON THE INSIDE , MY MATE HAS A 7 SEATER 142 AND THE CABIN IS PRETTY CRAMPED , I COULDNT BELIEVE IT, AND IM JUST UNDER 6FT

Was there any bought ? Alot of the the branch cars are being changed in Cork at the moment and it seems that i30s are being replaced with i40's saloons and estates.

It's not good enough for the gallery but there's nothing really different about the inside of this disco apart from the light switches.

But alas - also more expensive - which tends to be a key deciding factor in the Irish context

Extra driver training needed too??? - given that its a 4 x 4 (the Discovery).

Do the Uk police even use many Discovery/Land Rovers in general - is the X5 not the weapon of choice these days 4 x 4 wise.

Time for VAG to get the finger out and start getting some tenders in.

It doesn't matter who puts tenders in, at the moment it's going to come down to the cheapest, not the most appropriate.

When we got the Avensis, the Mondeo and the Insignia were trialled too. The Avensis was at the bottom of the list of recommended vehicles. But the Avensis was the cheapest.

The Avensis seems to have dissapeared now since the Hyundai's were bought.. Most of the must be gone by now?

The remaining Mondeo's wouldn't have been main cars. They wouldn't be on the road 24/7 so are taking longer to hit the 300k limit. Saw a 07 Avensis the other day.

They still have a lot going around alright but them Mondeos are good.
