Should the Irish lead the way in floating cities?

Well given that the world's climate is fecked and no-one seems to care, it seems that we're well due for rising sea levels worldwide. Many important cities and hugely populated areas are projected to be underwater in decades to come unless something is done. So should the Irish prepare for this and start building floating cities?

Think about it, the increased water levels won't affect them at all. Uniquely placed to take advantage of the chaos that climate change will bring, I can well imagine them thriving and growing. Further down the line we may seek to profit from the misfortune of others, to everyone's benefit e.g. say Manahattan was going under, we could sell them a ready made "New Galway" floating city no bother.

Corks easy to protect - just blow up the hills by forts Camden and Carlisle (the narrowest bit of the harbour ) -push em into the water, make a dam or causeway across (and put a lock in there) done the entire harbour protected -
Even if we can't afford to do it - we should get the surveys and designs done -

Given Ireland's inability to deal with anything water related, it'd probably sink before the people moved in.

Just look at how we've got on trying to drain the Shannon, that's a failure 100 years down the line.
Flooding in so many other places,
And just for good measure, the Irish Water fiasco.

Dammit (dam it, geddit?), I was going to say Cork. Partly because of its name, but partly because it's been flooded so often now that it needs to start floating. And then it could be the floatation devise that saves the rest of us from drowning, come the tidal wave brought on by either the fracking off Norway, or the collapse of glaciers in the Arctic.

A lot of empty Ballygowan bottles tied to our belongings should help too.

yeah, the idea was to create a forest, full of fungi, and we live up in the trees in treehouses and we then enjoy fun in the streams and help protect and promote mother earth.

Jesus, I can't tell if you're messing or not.

Skyscrapers can actually be good for the environment since they reduce urban sprawl which is a big problem with places like Dublin.

Anyway, mother nature isn't all infinite love and peace when you're living in a ditch and ****ting in a field.
