Good reliable doctor in Sligo?

Hi, I've been with Dr Westby for the past while.

He seems a sound bloke, but
1) I've been waiting for a referral for weeks now, which he still hasn't written.
2) The last referral I got was hand written and illegible, was sent back to me cause the specialist couldn't read it.
3) Reluctant to do comprehensive blood tests, have gone to other doctors to get these done.

Just looking for a good reliable doctor that can do these things without issue.

I've been to Dr Jane Doorman on the Mall, who seemed nice.

I understand there a Dr Frank Hayes; anyone have experience with him?

I tried the clinics on Barrack st, but they're all full, not accepting new patients now.

Yes I agree, they are.
Unfortunately I had a slight issue there and they refused to take me on.

So, ruling them out, any other recommendations?

Shame to hear about your experience with Doctor Westby. He's not my doctor, but from first hand work perspective, I know him to be very thorough, professional and caring, so much so that he very often spends a lot of time with each client.

Might be best to stick with him?

Frank Hayes is supposed to be very good also although I have not personally had experience with him, friends recommended him.

Yes, I heard that also which is why I went to him.

But I can't say my experience with him has been thorough; quite the opposite actually.
Not comprehensive blood tests done, refused to do follow up tests, said he'd refer me to a specialist who would do them; hasn't made the referral.

And, his secretary is an absolute nightmare to deal with.
I mean, in a profession, it's bizzare to me how one can come across that lack of professionalism.
I had the consultants secretary ring her to follow up on the referral, and when she got back to me, she said that Westbys secretary was the rudest most unresponsive person she had encountered - no exaggeration.

Weeks on from when I was meant to get referred, I'm still waiting, and I have a serious health situation.

I go in tomorrow morning - if they don't have it, I simply request to be discharged, cause this is ridiculous.

My main concern is, in Sligo there seems to be difficulties getting another doctor to take one on, once signed with any doctor on their rota.
It's complicated, but this is the first time I've encountered this system, and I must say, it seems very lacking.

And my experience with him has certainly not been that he spends a lot of time.
He seemed like he wanted me in and out asap.
Maybe that's cause I'm on the medical card and not paying privately....?

May I ask who your doctor is?

I've had some dealings with Dr Tanzy on Wine St also.
Whilst she is quite professional and apparently thorough, I did find her woefully impersonal.

I will check out Dr Hayes asap.
I mean, I have a complicated health situation at the moment, and I need someone that will work with me and be thorough.

She had an issue with taking on a patient already assigned to another local GP.

As does the Strandhill doctor surgery.

I have a consultation with Dr Frank Haze tomorrow, where I will unduly beg him to admit me as a patient.

I mean, like I said, Dr Westby might be a good guy himself, but I go in AGAIN today regarding my Endocrinologist referral, and his secretary just fobs me off.... again....

I mean, she actually waved her hand at me and says "no no, not yet", before putting her head down again and basically ignoring me.

I'm in an effectively dire situation at the moment regarding my health, and to have my own personal GP, or his employee, adopt that kind of an attitude... I mean, I assigned the adjective "ridiculous" - but I have to say, there's something beyond ridiculous; embarrassing, infuriating maybe...
