Patty O Furniture wrote: » Hi, I've had this problem with my SkyHD box for a few days, as it turns up when i set a reminder for a program for the next day. & also sometimes there's no listings for the next day from 6am? I've turned off the box at the mains, but sadly it's still 'Initialising...'? Does anyone have this same problem, just short of ringing up sky, as maybe there's a simpler way to deal with this? Thanks.
Patty O Furniture wrote: » A similar thing happened last nite (Sat), but was heading out, so it didnt matter, but it rectified itself in the morning as there was a snowfall last nite & the rain must have cleared it away? But it happened after 7 tonite, so i came across sky.com/nosignal it helped part of the problem, as i only noticed later when i tried to record a prog & couldn't see the other channel when i turned back to it. The weather was mild out, so i can only assume there's a loose cable outside as when i checked the settings on the HD box, there was no strength/quality on Input 2. Would that be the problem
adox wrote: » Funnily enough Ive had the "Still initialising, try again later" type message when i tried to record something last night and when scrolling through the on screen guide its struggled to get listings. Must check the signals tonight. Having said that I did manage to set it to record with the Sky+ app straight after which leaves me a little confused.

Patty O Furniture wrote: » Its probably to do with the dish? i've checked the cables on back of box, they're very tight, none of them loose? As i've done the rebuild a few times, but only if i've turned off the box, it seems to work for a while? Strange though as when there are channels ok, i check the input signals & it doesnt' show any & for some channnels you can't see there is 1 input ok on them? What will sky do, if you ring them up, only to go the same procedure i've already done?
steveon wrote: » They will send out an enginner to check your dish, turning off a box is pointless if you are having the same problems over and over again. Either there is a signal problem or your box tuner's may be failing.

derossi wrote: » Had the same problems myself for a while. Went through all the usual rebuilds etc but nothing ever worked. Was extremely annoying when stuff didn't record. Oddly the only thing that worked for me and has stopped it, is, when I turn off the Tv and box I have to turn off the box first then the tv. If I turn the tv off then the box I have all them problems you have. Hasn't happened since bar one time I did the above. That obviously means using the same Sky remote to operate both.

To narrow your fix down a bit can you answer the following. 1. what is the make and model of the sky hd box. Sky R010.070.58.13P 2. who fitted the new lnb ie a sky guy or yourself. The TV man, fitted the new LNB, but after realising the problem was still appearing, he fitted the old one back, (how much would LNB's cost anyway) 3. did you undo the cables from the sat box and had a good look at each one to make sure the outer braid was not touching the inner core. He had a look at them to check if they were loose & not sure if he checked what you said above? 4. did you try and do a software update, when you do a software updates it overwrites the existing and is in effect a clean install. No, but afaik by looking on the sky threads, i'm pretty sure that's the current version! 5. Is the dish rusty? It's less than a year old afaik, as it got replaced last year. 6. did you do a reset, ie unplug from wall etc. Numerous times, as it was the first thing i came across while looking it up, as with the sky.com/nosignal website 7. did you permanently delete all those programs under the delete heading? I did this and I think box speeded up. When you have about 2% left, you delete anything you need to make room And if its any comfort thousands of people are experiencing similar issues, sky have said a fix on the way it is earmarked for 27th feb. But your box may have given up the ghost. Mine is a PACE it was perfect again yesterday but after watching 2 episodes of fortitude that was in planner and I stopped and rewound a few times I got the blue screen again. I have now turned on again after leaving it overnight and its back to normal. You are not alone, if you look on here you will see there are 18208 views on box stopped recording!! http://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Sky-boxes/bd-p/sky-boxes I hope there's something above, which will be of use & hopeful of a fix from sky? I see what you said as i saw the same problem here too: http://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Sky-boxes/Sky-Planner-needs-constant-rebuilds/m-p/2289278 When looking at the sky website, they were able to tell me:We've detected severe weather in your area Even though it's pretty calm outside As well as stopped recordings, is No listings available there when you click on +24 hours? As i can only record the station i'm watching or watch on demand while recording As i've still only got 1 input going even after replacing the cables & even if you had changed everything, it all could be down to sky's fault, have i got that right, if that's the definition of stopped recordings Boxes do fail and if you have been with sky a while you should get a free one but they may ask for postage, its worth it. I've had boxes offered to me for a small cost, but what do i do with the existent recordings? Also has this been highlighted in the sky forum?

swoofer wrote: » You are running out of options, you need another box to check those cables and are the cables coming straight from the dish to the box? The idea of a software update is to overwrite the existing and can correct errors. You should try it. But there are two methods now, and your box is new so should be new method ie use remote.
