Why don't you compare Hazard v Spurs in the League, with Sanchez v southampton in the league?

If Rooney scores a hatrick today, you could argue he was the best choice, as he has 4 goals and 1 assist in last 3 Home games in league.

I know you didn't say that, I was responding to the original post by Futureguy who said that Hazard was clearly the right captain choice this week.
I was countering that by saying if you purely look at stats instead of actually taking into account the players form with your own eyes, you will end up making incorrect choices.

On your second point, you are missing the point.. It doesn't matter a jot to me whether Sanchez was playing an under-strength Hull or Doncaster Rovers. His performance in that game showed me that he is entering Beast mode in terms of performance level this season, all the stats in the world will not tell you what your own eyes can see.

Pretty much anytime someone loses a h2h game, they probably would have won had they picked captain hindsight, or started the right 11, instead of leaving 7 points on the bench.
