Mod Post: A reminder to folks that trying to bait supporters by posting alternate names for a football club may lead to a yellow card. Folk are welcome to post in any superthread they wish to, but nobody is free to use superthreads or this forum in general as somewhere to try and bait/flame/troll other posters.

But as EB states when the other three are involved and I believe at least one more has to play their hand, It changes how I feel about it I believe we will be in safer hands than we are at present so I won't be to upset with him being involved

That doesn't mean he's an idiot or charlatan though, he's obviously got substantial personal wealth and has made a successful career for himself. I read once that when he was sentenced for the tax evasion he made the fine back three times over in a matter of months. That doesn't sound like a stupid man to me. As for the others: Douglas Park is well known businessman with a big bus company and several car dealerships, George Taylor has made quite a good living in Hong Kong working for Morgan Stanley.
bobmalooka wrote: » Tax issues is putting it very very mildly, he was facing hundreds of criminal charges relating to a deliberate tax evasion scheme. Sounds all too familiar to me. Anyways I'm certainly not doubting that he has money, my point was that he is a (proven) charlatan and those type of people will use any situation to benefit themselves financially. Of course he may abandon his instincts and act in the best interests of Rangers rather than himself, my own feeling (and work experience) tells me these people can rarely resist. Of course Rangers fans are entitled to feel optimistic and a certain leap of faith is needed no matter who takes control, but they should scrutinise the likes of King at every move.

For the past 12-18 months he's been quite public in his stance of boycotting the board, fans not attending matches, not buying merchandise. All things that would push the share price down. Then in he swoops and buys up quite a few shares. I'm no forensic accountant, but is that not market manipulation???
Jelle1880 wrote: » http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/30674489 So all of a sudden some random American decides to bid for the club, right after King and co have made their move ? Colour me unimpressed, wouldn't be surprised if he's a friend of Green or whatever.
Broxi_Bear_Eire wrote: » Well if your so interested carry on and do something about it great to see you take an interest in the club . My own take on it would be anyone with an ounce of sense can see the share price was falling without Kings help.
