I also mentioned I heard about them guys (from the link), got the answer to search no further - as many of them users recommend them very much. But I'll also ask them users to find out a price range for a job if you want. Just let me know what car, age, engine etc.

And fixing that problem finally allowed the remains to set solid. Last guy to touch might've only taken the debris out. Bugger. And mystery fluid seems to be leaking from the gearbox area. But it's not gearbox oil. At least, I don't think it is. It's not oil. It evapourates much too quickly and doesn't stain the ground. Engine oil Level's also in the normal bounds. It's not coolant. The level seems fairly solid. It's just above the low mark - but I don't want to fill it any more because it does expand a lot. It's not brake fluid, the level's fine too. Pedal response is fine. I only spotted it after dropping something on getting out of the car and looking under it. I wouldn't have noticed it at all otherwise. I have seen it before.... right after I had the gearbox oil done, right after I bought it. And then it never did it again. Never showed any evidence of it.Ain't car ownership fun?

Wanted to change my car. Day before buying a new one timing belt snaps on the old one. Next day (or so) buy new car. Week later find out timing chain needs replacing.
