Official Conor McGregor Thread (READ MOD WARNING IN OP)

OK guys,

The dust has cleared on the disaster that was the last thread. The biggest culprits won't be joining us here (Or anywhere else on the forum). Others have been warned in PMs.

This thread is a clean slate for everyone but there will be zero tolerance on it.

I remind all users to take a fresh look at the charter before posting here.

FIGHTER BASHING OF ANY KIND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

It doesn't take a Masters in English to know the difference between a negative opinion of somebody and name calling.

This Thread is for all things about Connor that won't go into event threads. I.E. all speculation about opponents, his twitter posts, public appearances and media.

Once a fight has been announced and an event named all news relating to that fight can go into the event thread.

My own opinion on McGrogor vs Sanchez (Finally), this is an awful fight for sanchez I think. Especially if he loses to Connor at WW he is finished. Diego gets by with half decent striking and wrestling and the rest on athleticism and aggression.

Conors footwork is just too good to be held against the fence and isnt that much smaller than Diego. If Connor loses he'll probably get his wrist slapped by Dana and told to wise up and stick to 145, worst case scenario. Diego has much much more to lose in this fight and I think his emotions will get the best of him and we'll see something similar to Brimage.

But being honest I don't see the fight happening. Dana is probably getting a bit sick of fighters calling opponents out so publicly and he and his match makers will still want to be seen as the ones pulling the strings.

Looks like the Siver fight is a lock, huge Conor fan but I'm a disappointed in this matchmaking - Jack Slack pretty much summed up my thoughts over on reddit so I'll just quote them here:

Bermudez and Lamas will fight in 3 weeks. Saving an exceptionally long medical suspension, there's no reason the winner couldn't fight McGregor in January or February in a legitimate title eliminator.

I bet either would leap at the chance to fight him.

Elkins fights Saturday and could easily make a January or February match.

Nick Lentz is free and could fight him tomorrow.

Hell if we're going for an honest tune up, Clay Guida isn't booked to fight.

There are guys who would challenge his wrestling that are ranked both above and below Silver, Lentz has even been calling him out on twitter. Conor will destroy him in the first round. Nice purse for Conor though, and gives him a few more months to improve his game further before facing one of the division true big boys in terms of wrestling.

I'm not a Mcgregor hater by any stretch. Delighted he's so successful and can't wait to see his future fights. He's an exciting fighter but Jesus, his persona is getting progressively more annoying.

Another perfect matchup for Conor. Should see some nice spinning $hit But Siver will get caught with an uppercut or left counter in the 1st. Headlining (i assume) should be fun for him anyway in Boston. Another handy 200k including PON bonus.

MMA Junkie now reporting McGregor vs Siver in January too.

Weird fight, quite a big stepdown in competition, and doesn't really answer many of the questions about McGregors grappling game.

Siver is small, compact and slow. McGregor will destroy him. I expect him to be a huge favourite, maybe 1/6
