So after 4 months and 6500 miles I've got my first problem with my gtv. And it's an expensive one. I've a feckin fuel leak somewhere (I'm guessing engine bay) (I've done 140 miles and have half a tank left) and the smell is stronger when I'm over 4500 rpm.
Anyone know if you can replace the rubber tubing with silicone so I won't have to worry about it again?

Depends as the service interval might be recommended in one country and in a different country a different interval. On most cars 15k km is a good one to stick to long term. Although even if the car is just over the manufacturer can use that as an argument when making warranty claims. You'll get away with abit but anything over 2k km would be completely pushing it I recon.

If I want to declare my car off the road do I have to declare it before the tax runs out? My tax is up since the start of the month but I wont be driving for 3-6months, can I declare it off the road since October 1st?

Just keep it off and change ownership or pay the tax is all the options available!

I did/do. I saw your post but didn't get a chance to reply. It lasted about 9 months on my front bumper but that was sprayed in haste. I think if you did a better job with a few good coats it should last at least a year.

I may be feeling the pintch at the minute but I could potentially get €1200 out of it as it is and I literally have €3 in my bank account now.
I'll think about it tomorrow but that's a lot of money to me right now.

That's the one thing about MX5's they not rare. I could pick up a better one in a years time when I can afford it.

If you're happy to let it go than I would 1200 isn't small money and if you think replacing it if desired will be easy than there is no reason to keep it really.

I think we've seen this to be true in another poster.

It is pretty solid but it needs a few jobs too.
Rocket rover gasket is very slowly weeping, there's play in the steering rack, electrical gremlins and a few spots of rust that need to be sorted.
If I could sell it to someone that would fix it and love it for 18 months, I'd totally buy it back for €2000 down the line.

Couldn't find a saab dude sorry. Got a cap for my mc alright. If you pick one up I.ll have all the other stuff sorted by then. Most of it.s in the shed anyway. Only take a minute to put together. Is your clutch on a seperate reservoir? Mine is but it was gone of the only diesel there

. Petrol modeld seem to be all of the one reservoir. I want to change my clutch fluid coz its mouldy lookin.
