looked like a building site....like he had his living house in dublin but building a dream house in wicklow....like people do

I thought this was a very solid opening. A lot of new characters to set up, old stary arcs to straighten out (Lizzy, Dentist etc), new plot lines to get up and running (new backer, new head quarters, Paddy's revenge etc). The timeline was all over the place though. Some was prior to Spain, some in Spain and some after Spain but all in different sequences. I had to use Nidges head scar as a reference point

I reckon Fran will find out about the pipe bomb, get Paddy to make him one and use it on Nidge's house, killing or badly injuring Trish and his son and it'll be all out war between Fran and Nidge. This could be in the last episode after a lot of build up, leaving us gasping for season 6 which discussions are already underway for.

I agree there, I think the point was that they wanted to show that they could patch things up when it came to business but as soon as a (perceived) insult was made against travellers then Patrick was never going to let that go.

What I highlighted in bold is more than likely what will happen, leaving Siobhan again with forgive the pun a love/hate attitude to Nidge!!

Paulie is Nidge's official minder/hitman/fixer but he wants to keep Nidge alive for Terrence and not for Nidge's interests. That's why Guinea comes in useful and he has proven in series 4, episode 6 and series 5, episode 1 he is every bit as efficient as Darren at killing. I predict Guinea will dispatch of Paddy and Paulie eventually. With regard to Terrence, I think that's more than likely where Tony and the IRA come in again to help Nidge? But that may be season 6?

Fran will find out about Linda and obviously both Nidge and Paddy are guilty here. But because I think both Nidge and Fran will survive, something else happens that brings them back as friends again at the end. Perhaps, Nidge saves Fran's life or something by killing a raging Paddy and gang who are both's common enemy?

What with the timeline jumping all over the shop and Patrick's prominence in the episode could this bring Love Hate into the genre of time traveller shows?
