Yes,there is a Barry family from Cork who have the tea company.Have you heard of former politician Peter Barry and his daughter Deirdre Clune who was recently elected an MEP.Well they are of that family.

Have recently realised the ritual of using loose leaf tea, and love it.

Have found On Amazon the team ake of London Ceylon Tea, sounds posh, but is a lovely cuppa. Have tried others, but this does it for me,

Otherwise, I buy tea bags 240 bag in Aldi, not a fan of Barry's, as I like to drink black tea, and it's just too strong for me, but to be honest, a tea bag is a tea bag,

Now if we were talking coffee, that's another story alogether

I always used Lyons, went shopping in aldi one day and got the McGrath's brand.. I have to say I was very impressed, it was lovely.

PG Tips, has to be the most refreshing tea. Lyons gold blend is a close 2nd, just picked up 80 for €2 in Tesco.
I can't stand Barry's tea, I find it far too heavy and sickly.

I live in the UK and am preaching the Barry's tea gospel in work.

Mind you, they are all very proud and loyal to their Yorkshire tea (must be a north of England thing)

I am a loose leaf afficionado, talk of which tea bags are better is beneath me.

Barry's Loose Leaf Gold Blend probably the best of the mass market brands, the slightly cheaper Classic Blend is fine also.

M&S Christmas Tea (about now)

and

M&S Extra Strong (which is fuppin' lovely) at home

In defence of Barry's, it's actually 'made' here - All Lyons stuff is made up elsewhere and shipped here.

Liptons ice tea is also made in Cork so they seem to have a decent tradition of manufacturing wet muck beverages

I'm a fussy tea drinker. Lately I've been using the McGraths Reserve Blend from Aldi. Its the nicest tea I have ever had. Think its made by Robert Roberts.

I am a Lyons man myself but the Aldi brand (McGraths?) is not bad at all.

i think a lot of it's to do with the water...sometimes my tea is sh1te but spontaneously goes back to normal no matter which brand I use. My ma in law makes lovely tea and she uses Dunnes own brand...it doesn't taste the same in my house though.
Overall for me though Tetley's is probably the nicest, followed by Punjana.
