I have read a lot of players get muscle injures and strains on there ankle and knee joints after playing on those 3g pitches. So I would be surprised if it was down to that.

Jeez, Allen out with another injury. I like him as a player but he has either missed a lot of time with injuries or been playing with injuries that have affected his performance.
He really needs to have a no questions asked great season to be deemed worthy of another year.

I think so too. He's been away with Brazil, he'll be 2 inches taller (not ACTUALLY), I think he'll be very eager to make an impression after missing the last 2 starts...

I think he'll be a Danny Murphy, hang around for the middle years of his career in and out of the side, before leaving in his late 20s to be a first teamer at a lower level team...
