Nor am I interested in getting into a row about somebody that's passed away and held dear but those cute hoor articles (he did X, Y, Z but sure he was a character) are just rosy hindsight and very Irish. You got a good few years out of it but now you're yo-yoing between the divisions as a result. Us 3 years ago excluded, the league might not be achieving what it did in the money splashing days but a lot of clubs are relatively more stable now. I'll take that over somebody cracking the CL group stages.

As I posted above the quote at the end of the Newstalk documentary summed him up to a tee: "I unfortunately have given my life to Shelbourne Football Club, some people might say it is my life". I still remember his removal and how Shelbourne orientated it was. In all fairness the League is in half a good state, it's only a matter of time before the sh1t hits the fan at Pats (how long can Kelleher prop their finances with their abysmal attendances), if Longford do a bottle job they're f*cked, I'd be shocked if Cobh are in the League next season, Athlone could be screwed, and God knows what else.
CLUB STATEMENT Bohemian FC is pleased to confirm that an expert inspection of the pitch at Dalymount Park has assessed it as playable and presenting no safety hazard to players. The inspection took place on Tuesday 19 August, the day after the referee cancelled a match between Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers on the grounds that the pitch was unsafe for players. The report received today presents expert opinion that the pitch was safe. A small repaired area behind one penalty spot had been identified by the referee as a particular issue. Agricultural scientist Pat Supple reported to Bohemian FC “that the area in question did not constitute a hazard of such seriousness that it would cause serious injury to players”. He concluded: “It is my opinion that the pitch was playable and that it did not constitute a safety hazard to players”. This report also concluded that there may have been “a breakdown in communication between the referee and the groundsman through no fault on either side”, when they spoke on Monday evening before the referee made his decision. A consultant preparing a further report for the Football Association of Ireland has indicated to club officials that he did not consider the pitch unsafe.
