23 mil spent. That's a decent stab for a first team IMO. Players are underpriced compared to other seasons IMO.

Debuchy is good value at 5.5 - guaranteed starter and will get forward.

Spurs were horrendous defensively last season. Pocchetino has a tough job fixing that.

You don't need to have both Courtois and Fabianski. You'll always play Courtois. Drop the 1 million off Fabianski and upgrade Naismith, Young or Cameron.

I didn't play Fantasy Football last year but want to get back into it this year. Picking a team is as hard as ever especially when I haven't been able to watch much football last year.

This is what I have got so far. Probably a few changes to be made before Saturday though.

What do you think?

GK: Play DeGea every week. Hamer has low ownership so less fear of a price drop.

I just feel that it is very possible in your midfield you got the guys who will be the second highest point scorer in their team's midfield. With the exception of Mata.

Have changed things again. Would rotate between 4-4-2 and 3-5-2 depending on fixtures and downgrade a defender when the good cheapies emerge. Any thoughts?

Very weak defence despite spending £24m on the 5 of them. Cameron and Bruce may not play, Clyne is not worth £5m especially with Liverpool up firs, I wouldn't have Jags in at £5.5m and Ferdinand is not the best £4.5m defender. Scrap them all! Rest of the team is fine though.

I'd agree, but for just .5 more you could have Mata who looks in a great position to start the season well. Downgrade Fonte maybe for the 0.5?

Why do you have 3 at £4.5m, have you invested heavily on MF and FW? Muneisa at Stoke could get a spot over Pieters, although I still fancy the latter. Still though, if any £4.5m Stoke defenders nail down a spot they are in my team.

I've spent some money on my keeper, an expensive defender, an expensive midfield 3, and a front 2, after that I've been mostly looking at trying to find diamonds in the rough at lower prices to try and get the upper hand on the almost template team that is gonna be going at the moment.

What is most likely to be Chelsea defence this season?
I see quite a few teams with Filipe Luis - is he a guaranteed starter and if so who loses out?

Could someone discuss the following options for me.

GK
I am looking for the best 8.5m pairing. I never really see the point spending more than the minium on GKs. If you look at the points total for GKs over the last few seasons of FF the difference between the top scoring GK and the bottom scoring GK(1st team starters) is never huge. I think the .5m or more will be better used elsewhere in the team. I am open to hearing any differing thoughts on this?

I want some Chelsea cover. I see alot going with Azpil, is he not a rotation risk with Ivanovic?
Luis seems to be the other popular choice. I dont know much about him in terms of goals and assists. He does seem to have no competition for the 1st eleven though. Anyone know about his assist/goal contribution at Athletico?
Cahill/Terry at 6.5m just are too expensive for me to consider.

Elsewhere Debuchy looks like good value at 5.5m for a garunteed starter with no competition in one of the top teams. What are the other options at 5.5m that people are considering and for what reasons?

Final question re defence.
What 3 defenders would you go with with 13m to spend?

My Midfield is pretty settled. I am a fan of both Cesc and Sanchez. as opposed to Hazard and Ramsey. I think Sanchez will outscore Hazard over the season and Cesc is an absolute assist machine. I guess I just dont buy into the Ramsey hype yet and could prove a big mistake.

Mata seems to be a must at 9m given how good he is and how fundamental he is to LVG's United team. I expect him to put up numbers similar or exceeding his first 2 seasons at Chelsea.

The other premium Midfield dilema I have is between Sterling or Lamela. I think both are value. Lamela was so good in Italy and from looking at him pre-season and how Pocc will use him I am edging towards him. Any thoughts on this? or any other Midfield options for <8.5m?

Forwards.
I am looking for a <8.5m forward. I dont have much City cover so looking at Dzeko/Jovetic.... Not a fan of Giroud and dont think he will post similar numbers to last year. Any body got any other options? And what do people think re Dzeko/Jovetic?

will leave it at sterling for this week, I dont think United are going to come together for a few weeks yet
