There's a fundamental issue that requires clarification, apparently.

That is, Criticism of Israeli Military actions, policy and tactics =/= Criticism of any Religion.

It makes no difference what Religion a person is, if they are acting in an improper manner, criticism of those actions is not a criticism of their beliefs, it is a criticism of their actions. At any point do you see that the ships, planes and tanks that are levelling an area with a civilian population in it belongs to israel.

Don't forget the Drones.

These, I find the most disturbing. First, they were launched purely as "observation" units and for surveilence . Then, they were used for "limited targeted strikes" against Terrorists, using hellfires. Now, they are a routine part of the war machine and are being used to strike civilian targets.

So now, people need to fear a machine..a death machine. The terminator springs to mind. Can you imagine the stress of just moving from one place to the other, or sitting in your home, with faceless, pilotless Drones in the sky above, ready to slam a high-explosive rocket down on top of you? Just the thought of that has bugged me all day.

You seem to be assuming that I don't oppose Hamas. You know, it is possible to criticise Israel's murder of innocent children, whilst also finding Hamas equally deplorable. Neither Hamas nor Israel care about Palestinian civilians. Hamas, on the other hand, has neither the backing of the majority of 'western' nations, nor, thankfully, the ability to murder anywhere near as many civilians as Israel.

That said, my friend's house mate in Philadelphia who is a lovely guy, extremely liberal (we'd great drunken chats about the greatness of the show West Wing, but that a different story) - however since the Gaza bombings started he has been posting extensive Pro-Israel posts on his FB, and has joined the in with "Stand With Israel" marches. He is not the type of person you would expect to support such a bloodbath any where - was extremely strange and sad to see him support such a thing.. He has been following the line off "Israel just defending itself" and "Just targeting weapons".. Basically my point is that Israel has more supporters than you think, even after these atrocities..

The people of Gaza voted for Hamas. When people do a stupid thing like this, what do they expect the terrorists they elected to do?
It is not the way towards peace.
Hamas are a fundamentalist extremist organisation who will never accept the right of Israel to exist.
They exported men, women and children into Israel with suicide vests and altogether blew up well over 800 Israeli civilians.
Would you allow such a group to build tunnels in now that the wall has stopped the suicide bombers from Gaza?
Would you allow them to send a rocket on average every 10 minutes for weeks now into your country.
Israel to do nothing was not an option.
They just want the rockets stopped and the tunnels into Israel destroyed.

Hamas is responsible for all the deaths in Gaza, if one starts a fight one knows one can't win and one knows will bring death, then they have to accept responsibility for the death of Gazans.

The current conflict, the one that arose in the previous few weeks is the result of rockets being fired from Gaza and Hamas terrorists entering Israel via tunnels.
Maybe it is ok to kill Israelis and you only care for Gazans. Hamas cares for none and is following its charter where to die fighting Israel is something to seek in life.

Hamas are the people who Gazans elected and who have brought the destruction to Gaza.

I use to be anti-Israel before the wall was built, and I was against the wall, but the wall has come to symbolise for me how wrong I was.
The wall stopped the suicide bombers, the people with the I 'must martyr myself' are Islamic extremists/terrorists.
Hamas can't send suicide bombers into Israel unless they can sneak in via the tunnels, so they send rockets into kill civilians.

I do not see all these anti-Israeli people here condemning the terrorists who the people of Gaza voted for unlike the in the West Bank.
We must remember how Hamas wouldn't agree to power share with Fatah and a civil war broke out.
Hamas were left to rule Gaza, and all they do is implement policies of death, both to Israel and the people of Gaza.
