That's not backtracking, i believe the statement was that AC did not see one Liverpool fan backtrack. Rawk was full of backtracking fans, the thread went into meltdown over there. I don't know if i'm allowed to link to the RAWK Sanchez thread here but it's not hard to find and the attitude change after the arsenal announcement was hilarious

Most fans of all clubs are pretty sensible I think, and then every club has fans that are.... not so sensible shall we say? In the end, it makes no difference who someone supports, an eejit is an eejit, and it will come out in all aspects of their life.

Yep, people do lie all the time, and when it comes down to it we spend a lot of time on here talking about stuff that we don't know all the details about, and probably never will, especially as it's a Gossip/Rumours thread. But I'd still lend more weight to what the Manager of a Club goes on record with than anything that's rumoured on Twitter for example...

What do people expect Rodgers to say? "Yeah he chose Arsenal because they have qualified for the champions league every year for over a decade and we haven't". That wouldn't exactly go down well.

"He wanted to live in London, it had nothing to do with which football reasons" makes the club look better.
