And the touchdown around 2:11 seems to be short of the runway, in the displaced threshold. Did they get permission or is that just naughty, trying to make their short landing look even more impressive?

If that was a spot landing competition they'd be disqualified

Boeing marketing would class that as a win scenario (not least as Airbus were subsequently told not to try copy it with the A350)

Never experienced this but apparently a pack failure during takeoff is causing the lawnmower sound, aircraft filled with smoke and returned back to Ft. Lauderdale.

Probably more appropriate for Motors, but the USAF use 400 horsepower V-8 Chevrolet Camaros as chase cars for the U-2s and GlobalHawks - they previously used Pontiac GTOs and Pontiac G8 GTs.
