So,the isralies had some of their citizens murdered and as usual have to kill 10-20 palestinians for every 1 israelie they lost.Scores of innocents will be murdered including a few littel girls already killed and Garth brooks gets teh headline of each newspaper.

Is it that these countries suggest that maybe we should have a look at whether over 700 people dead should be looked at while we close our eyes, cover our ears, and say nothing?

Just listening to Sky News, and had the Israeli economic minister on who explained that Israel was surrounded by 350 million Muslims, most of whom are radicals apparently.

I'm suggesting that I don't trust Muslim countries to be objective, I don't trust countries that use these type of decisions to focus the attention away from their own humanitarian wrongdoings, and I don't trust an organization that once again, blatantly singles out Israel for investigation without deciding on investigating the Palestinian alleged war crimes (such as launching rockets - each indiscriminate launch into civilian areas is a war crime).

Ok, that is a fair point, but the problem is that the Ambassador doesn't care about Syria, and is using it as part of cynical attempt to distract from the actions of his own country.

For example, if the Syrian Ambassador was being asked questions about what is going on his country and then tried to change the subject to be about what is going on Gaza, I think we would all see that as a pretty cynical attempt at distraction.

I think the fact that some of the behaviour of these countries is extremely questionable and in some cases utterly wrong shames us more when we do nothing.

An organization? Is that the UN? As in United Nations?

The rocket fire does have to be investigated as well

Your link is broken, and secondly he seems to be some random historical author, so I would like to know his expertise in regards to video analysis, as nothing on his about page suggest expertise in that area, so his input is about as valuable as any other message board poster....

I guess what frustrates me about this thread and the general population is the fact that nobody seems to care. It's all very easy to debate the issues back and forward and while people here do seem to be well informed what good is it doing the actual innocent civilians being killed? A thread like this starts up when the issue is in the news. Newsflash, far worse has been happening on a daily basis there every single day of my life except it wasn't getting reported to the same degree. This Thread is nothing more than a debating society for the majority of people on here.

Anyway, there's a protest arranged for cork on Saturday. I'll be attending, I'm sure they'll be plenty around the country and I have no doubt everyone who feels so strong about it here will go out and make their voices heard.

Leaving aside the beard thing, which is something I haven't heard before. Perhaps he is a Hamas operative, perhaps he's a member of the amish community.

There were 3 things that concerned me when I saw the video first and the blog deals with those:

1: When the guy is "shot", everyone is calm, there is no sound of true terror or fright in their voices, it sounded staged.

2: The trajectory of the bullet that "killed" him. The guy is lying down in the middle of a rubble strewn street, it seems unlikely that a bullet would hit him on the ground with all the obstacles in the way.

3: The one that really stood out though is where is the killing wound? A high velocity sniper round would rip off half the guys head or tear a huge wound in his torso. There's no wound on the head or torso so how did he die?

The UN can do SFA without UNSC approval. The US has a veto on the UNSC, so no, they won't be doing anything \any time soon.

israel is not being singled out, its getting what it deserves, an investigation into its genocide of the palestinian people that has been ongoing since the foundation of the state of israel

You do realise that "sniper" doesn't always mean someone with a .50 cal barrett?

A soldier with a single fire rifle could be classed as a sniper

This would also nullify your 3rd point with lack of visible injuries. A .50 cal will take your arm off easy but a rifle shot would leave little trace of evidence on the front entry wound. It would however create a large exit wound although that depends too, some bullets these days are designed to explode inside the body ripping organs while others are designed to tumble so a bullet entering the chest could tumble through the torso again destroying everything before maybe exiting trough the upper chest or even the leg. The sound would also be lessoned with the addition of a suppressor which can be added to the M89SR which Israel use in urban warfare

Also the panic. They are in a warzone where shots are expected. What do you expect them to do, every time they hear a crack should they scream and shout and run around like headless chickens? They are wearing high vis vests and I'm assuming thinking that they aren't the ones being shot at.

And with the trajectory being questioned, it wasn't just a single shot there was a number of them that could easily be explained by a sniper zeroing in on the target.

The 4th and 5th are the stanard 7.62 and 5.56 rounds which is what Israeli sniper rifles tend to use.

So why doesn't Hamas agree to a truce? They had a chance to when the death toll was sub 100 and they refused.

Hamas kept firing rockets even when the Israelis had agreed to a truce.
