Dear Everyone.

Ticket swapping, selling, buying or trading are not permitted in the forum and that covers implied sales too.

Anyone trying to shift tickets on the forum will be banned.

Telling us something like "I have 10 tickets and I hope I'll be able to use them all" or similar ruses is implying that you are willing to sell tickets and you will be banned.
Please don't try getting around the ticket trading section of the forum charter because I'll just ban you.
I will err on the side of hard-headed in any ambiguous cases and ban you till after the concerts.

what a shambles... Garth Brooks himself has a lot to answer for... This sanctimonious crap about the gigs being "like his children"... There were only THREE organised until the tickets sold out!.. It was more like he HAD three kids, then he adopted two.. but then the birth parents came back and he had to hand the two adopted kids back.... And he should have still looked after the three kids he had in the first place.!!

Each gig was more like a golden goose than a child..

And you are right they would be very familiar with the process, and very familiar with all hte media sensation with the fact U2 unexpectantly were granted 3 gigs in 1 year, there was 1 other concert that year. So it was a real rarity to get 4 gigs in a year I think it was the only year there were 4. Now they wanted 8?!? double!

Yes, and other promoters have not taken the piss anyway like this. There have been numerous objections to slane gigs over the years. I think the max has ever been 2 days in a year in slane, a few years. Now if mountcharles went selling tickets for 4 dates (double the previous max), or 6 dates (4 more than before) then I would not be moaning about slane residents if they objected.

GAA didn't say that they had any indication that they were going to get the green light either.
It's all spin at this stage to avoid the blame.

5 concerts in a row was always unlikely; not sure why Croker/Aiken pushed it by going for so many given that objections were going to be lodged.

Something odd is up - DCC claiming they always said that five concerts would be too much and Aiken/GAA saying they were never told that.

You do not know or understand how booking a large gig in this country works. So stop talking crap like this. Have a read of Jim Carroll's article from the times from last week. That gives you the bare minimum you will need to have a clue. Please do that before you respond in here again, because as it stands all you're doing is whinging and using misinformation to try and form a point.

I could be wrong but I'm guessing because these shows were unique and not part of a world tour, and as a result that there may have been a difficulty rescheduling the 4th and 5th shows, considering the scale of the stage production for these Croke Park gigs.

there was most certainly no secret that there would be massive objections. I remember it was a really big deal in the media for U2 to get granted a third gig in one year.

I expect I could easily sell out tickets for a BBQ & free bar in Bono's house, or in the grounds of Áras an Uachtaráin. Now if I sell them all months in advance and then ask permission and bono or the president says feck off would you suggest protesting outside their house?!?
