Dear Everyone.

Ticket swapping, selling, buying or trading are not permitted in the forum and that covers implied sales too.

Anyone trying to shift tickets on the forum will be banned.

Telling us something like "I have 10 tickets and I hope I'll be able to use them all" or similar ruses is implying that you are willing to sell tickets and you will be banned.
Please don't try getting around the ticket trading section of the forum charter because I'll just ban you.
I will err on the side of hard-headed in any ambiguous cases and ban you till after the concerts.

I think Garth Brooks didn't want to be in a situation of going along with a ruling where fans going to the 4th and 5th shows would miss out, through no fault of theirs, if the first three went ahead.

Can you imagine how you would feel if you had a ticket for either of the last two shows, if the first three were held?

Not all fans who queued for the first three shows were successful in obtaining tickets and many of those would have managed to get tickets for the 4th and 5th gigs.

There were unfair suggestions that those who got tickets for the 4th and 5th shows were jumping on the bandwagon and not real fans.

I think that is the point he was making when he made the comment about choosing one child over another, for which he was unfairly criticised.

I could be wrong but I'm guessing because these shows were unique and not part of a world tour, and as a result that there may have been a difficulty rescheduling the 4th and 5th shows, considering the scale of the stage production for these Croke Park gigs.

Not impressed by Mr Aikens performance on national radio this week. As this debacle lies at the feet of aikens promotions and the GAA as a result of their promoting and selling tickets without planning they dont seem to be pushed about constructive solutions to the problem. I would be saying to them to waive their profits for a 3 day event and use this money to subsidise GB's share of the cake.If he can make as much from a 3 day gig as from a 5 day gig then I'm sure he'd jump at it.The GAA and Aiken promotions would salvage some of their reputation and save a fortune in legal costs when GB sues the pants off them.
I dont have a vested interest in this but I hope that whoever is responsible in the GAA together with Aiken promotions is held to account.

It's sort of against the rules but has been the way that event planning has been done in this country for years. It's very common for events to only get a license a week before the event.

What implications does this have for Aiken going forward? I can see big artists being wary of going anywhere near them with a bargepole following this omnishambles. Will we be left with MCD having a monopoly on big gigs for a while?

Having been a Garth fan long before it was popular (more than 20 years) I think this is an absolute disgrace
The residents around Croke Park should be ashamed of themselves and their begrudging attitide. Besides the anger felt by 400,000 potential concert goers, some of whom queued for a number of nights in rain etc the amount of damage done to our reputation internationally is massive

Dublin County Council also need some manners put on them so that they stop making such decisions in a vacuum from the commercial entities who are looking at losing significant revenue as a result of this. The degree of importance that these planners appear to attach to themselves is intolerable and disgusting and they need to be brought down a peg or two

I suggest 400,000 potential concert goers turnup at Croke Park to protest and see how that goes down with the planners and residents !

One is a sporting event the other are concerts that require a licence.
Croker won't be hosting 5 games in a row in the way the concerts were being implemented.
The planning for the WC would be done well in advance, not poorly organised in the way Aiken planned these concerts.

Also, this isn't making big news outside of here, and won't affect the WC bid.
And not everyone who will hear of this will care, they'll be interested in the WC.
