What about a 2006 1.3 Diesel Vauxhall Astra? Is that another problem car?

Reason TO buy: the lack of a DPF.
Reason not to buy: the 1.7D is nicer to drive and more economical.

Both are good engines tbh. The 1.3 is surprisingly good to drive for what it is, they're 6 speed. I'd wager that a 1.3 diesel Vauxhall Astra 1.3 diesel was a hire car or fleet car though.

Have a look at the Punto 1.3 multijet.

If anyone's driving past Carrigtwohill this morning on the N25 they've taken the road surface up before relaying it. The problem is it takes the car away in its own direction at the minute, a focus in front of me came close to going into the barrier. Be very, very careful.

Dont get a generic code reader for any volvo. They dont work full stop on volvo.

I have the vida/dice set up and its the best thing to use for codes and changing settings etc.

I tried a generic code reader on a Volvo with an engine light on and it wouldnt give me anything !

Get the insurance to give you a rental and them to get the car fixed. Really fight for it.

I wouldnt be 3 months without a car and I wouldnt be buying another one because of someone elses negligience !

The guy I use in Toyota just got back to me and said he could have all the parts here by July 11th. The Garage I am using for the repair was the closest to my house as I had to drive to them to get a quote and it be dangerous to go too far, They said a 3 month wait for parts, maybe they dont want the job as the insurance want them to invoice them after the job, could seem messy if its not the way you usually do bussiness.

Has KKV not decided on a car yet? :pac:

When a garage in Dublin has a UK reg car for sale but says the final price of €10,950 "includes VRT and we do all the paperwork", do I still have to pay VAT or some other tax on top of that? If so, how is it calculated?

The 735i is the nicest car ive ever driven , in every single way, but they are by no means cheap to run.

Aside from the absolutely insane amount of options ive retrofitted (all of them) for a car I spent 1000 buying Ive dropped 2k just getting it through NCT

Complete top end gasket change, spark plug boots, plugs, filters, oil , new water pump, new rad, new hoses, complete front suspension arms and ARB bushings , rear shocks, rear tyres, jack mounts, windscreen rubber trim . New valley pan , every jubilee clip done, ccv valve , intake manifold gaskets, sump gasket, oil level sensor gasket, ABS module recondition, ABS wheel sensor, wheel bearing.

and I did all the labour myself.

In 1.5 years of ownership including my retrofits id say that car has cost me 6k all in . Worth it in every way but I still have more work to do :

Transmission fluid and filter change, fix the damn sunroof, hole in the exhaust so im replacing the lot.

Now once this is all done it should only need servicing for the next 2 years or so but never say never.

A superb car to drive, but your pockets empty quickly.

Went to get an insurance quote on the car I looked at....

The reason it hasn't sold..... it's been in a crash, don't know what category, but it was "beyond economic repair"

For sale I mean, feck all decent petrols around and the majority of M-Sports are fuelled by the devil.

Don't know what to do really, kind of swaying towards focus territory now (not a 1.4 though!!)....... maybe a corolla, (exciting I know) insurance still isn't my best friend (although it's not that bad), so I'll leave the audi's and bmw's for a while yet!! :pac:
