Water Charges List!

No, I am not actually, I am annoyed for every other citizen that will pay.
My partner owns this house so I will not pay a cent for any tap water!:D
I already buy bottled water for drinking. :pac:

People nationwide should flat out refuse to pay any of their bills and let them put that in their pipes and smoke it.
Once you give in, air tax is next!

Is a maximum of four parts per million chlorine to water a copious amount? If they are giving their pooches and moggies bottled water it could be just the same as tap water.

Oh please! All my kids, grandkids, wife and myself have drunk tap water all our lives. The dogs have never shown any ill effects, as neither have we. Those you heard of not giving it to animals need to get some perspective.

I have no more difficulty paying for water than I do for electricity or gas or phones - which little!

I don't see the problem. We have always been on a private scheme so have always paid for water as there was no public option.

I think everyone should pay but obviously the water quality for many people then needs to improve.

How many? It could well be a small minority nationally but that is a generalisation just like your statement.

It is the way of things that whenever the quality falls below safe standards it makes the news as has happened in Galway. We are hardly likely to get daily news stories saying water is safe today in Cork or Mullingar or wherever. All I know is that in Co Louth both Dundalk and Drogheda have had new water schemes and both towns are well served. And I have never heard of any problems in other places in the county.

What about your county. How many people need to have their public water supply improved to a safe level? And this is a separate issue from the water supply problem in the Dublin area which does not have a sufficient reserve capacity to cope with occasional breakdowns.

The water out of the tap here is dreadful.
It smells bad and is undrinkable and I live near Drogheda.

Where am I paying twice for water? I paid to a group scheme for years until the council took it over and now I pay nothing for water.

There is little to no evidence to suggest that fluoride is linked to cancer. Loose links in poorly conducted research.

I suspect you are against everything though. Water charges, free tv, government etc.

For what it's worth I do think fluoride should be removed from the drinking water. And if your water tastes like **** I don't blame you for not wanting to pay. Mine is excellent quality.

OK not a generalisation but a non specific statement (many people could mean a few hundred or hundreds of thousands). What I wanted to know is how many, or what percentage of households need the improvement in quality which you expect.

From what I read Irish Water will make the supply safe in areas of Galway and Roscommon where it isn't safe from time to time. Is there a problem with the safety of the supply in your area or in other areas apart from those two which I missed in the news?

And of course any supply however paid for should be decent and not just decent but scientifically proven to be safe on an ongoing basis.

All I said was I am happy to pay as my water is good. Some peoples water is of poor quality and I don't think they should be expected to pay till this is rectified for good.

In Donegal Ive seen water come out brown often. Would be nice to have that fixed but I suppose there's nothing wrong with it scientifically, its probably just a little dirt and won't do us any harm.
