Biggest difference between those is the fact that the Dutch crashes appear mostly to be at low speed while the Russian ones are at high speed and there were probably a couple of deaths in that Russian one.

There used to be one of those bollards on the slip road bus lane just passed the Esso service station on the city side of Newlands Cross (N7).
Every time it was repaired someone would smash into it again, even though it was clearly marked and illuminated.
I think they have given up repairing it :rolleyes:

More likely they abandoned it as they were responsible for the damage to the cars as well and further insurance claims for personal injury.

One will see them abandoned where they get hit regularity. A pending legal action will also render them in a state of unrepair.

How is it possible for someone to take a case for damages if it was clearly marked, signposted, illuminated etc.
If it was a permanent bollard or a pillar and someone hits it, surely thats regarded as bad driving.

To be fair, this is a question for YOUR solicitor, take my word for it, it's the reason some are quietly decommissioned.

IE, it's very similar to the deathrider being spiked by Gardaí stingers.

Not sure about here but I remember from my brief stint in Cambridge cars getting stuck on the same and according to local taxis, the council would pursue the drivers for damage costs to the bollard.

Based on a rough estimate of the time it takes the two vehicles to travel the same distance on the video, my guess is that the overtaking vehicle was doing around 100 km/h.

Also there's a cyclist (unlit?) at 0:38.

It was actually Mrs. K's car that dashcam is in & she was alone when that loon flew in the Ennis road. It was approx 11.40pm & she said there were other cars behind her so he passed several vehicles at that crazy speed.
50 kph zone obviously & not a dual carrigeway

The reg was 07 C xxxx & from my experience of previous footage from the camera in her car, I reckon he/she was travelling at well over 100 kph, probably 110/115 or maybe a little more.
There's a four way junction there too at the side of the Gaelic Grounds - anybody turning left onto the Ennis road from Ashbrook would have been toast.

Cam is a Seezus Shadow GT680W with the GPS receiver option.

Wow, well spotted Iwannahurl. I hadn't even noticed that cyclist :eek:. If they had been a few seconds further down the road :eek:.

There's loads of places where anyone could have pulled out on the Ennis road. Plenty of driveways, shops etc. The car must have been stolen
