It's used for everything so much so it's got its own name we call it 'the red box' it's about the only that everyone including my mother knows exactly what it is. It's the same as this picture still going strong after all these years too such a handy set.

Bought on Amazon for twenty pound. Great value for Bahco stuff. Got it for the bicycle and little jobs in the car. Never have small sockets when you need them. Or hex pieces for that matter...

Bought another rover 75 diesel auto estate at the weekend, went to the UK to get it.
Its twelve years old, I particularly like the combination of auto and diesel.
It does not have a DMF, DPF or clutch, this is my second, the first was written off in a collision.

Hi all,

My 2005 Focus 1.6tdci failed the NCT miserably on emissions yesterday.
The results were
Reading on my Focus 7.55/m
Pass rate below 3/m

I did change oil and filter before NCT.

Yesterday after the NCT inspection, I took off the air breather pipe and noticed that there is slight oil on the inside of the pipe. I presume this is normal?

I then inspected the turbo, there is no play in the spindle and there are no propellers damaged.

I then took out the air filter and noticed that it was extremely dirty (I will upload pictures later)
I also noticed that the pipe to the left near the oil refill was slightly slit and oil was noticeable near the slit. (SEE ATTACHED PIC SECOND DOWN)

I should also point out that the DPF has been removed!

Any ideas what else might be causing this smoke??

@dial1988 you could always try dipetene in the tank and drive it like you stole it for a tank. But tbh that smoke is fairly extreme not just a bit smokey. I have to say my focus started to get fairly smokey all the time not as bad as yours though. Does everything look in order under the bonnet injector bases dry, all pipe good no leaks.

It's overfuelling. Clean your MAF maybe.

Hi, Thanks for replies.
The only noticeable pipe damage is on a pipe next to the oil refill (see pics attached)

I'm not sure what the pipe is called or does but the slit it oil covered around the slit.

I suspected an injector seal would be the problem but the head of the engine is dry with no smell of fuel from engine or exhaust.

Any recommendations appreciated!

Thanks for the help TF and DGT, I'll sort it out tomorrow, slowly getting into all this DIY business, some bits to sort on it.

New one needs a little tlc, leak in the intercooler or hoses for a start.

Yep, its rare enough, apparently the first of 7 tourers produced in that colour, its a monogram colour. Its marked on the other side, so we'll see how the mechanicals work out before we fret over paintwork.

What colour is the interior, what spec?

Interior is Smokestone with Ash Grey (rover speak for black).
Its a Connoisseur SE Auto CDT.
It has everything including sunroof and fuel burning heater, reversing sensors, dimming mirror , cruise, heated seats , etc.

really enjoyed the first one, they're not huge money either, VRT booked for next week.
