Right. So After Hours is the most helpful place in the world right?
I read what I believe was a short story (unlikely but possibly an excerpt from a longer story) years ago in the paper and I always thought it was one of the best short stories I had ever read. Only problem is I remember very few details at this point in time. So I need AH to help.
The Basic premise is that of a young girl (maybe on holidays) at the beach alone. She falls and scrapes herself I think and comes across a man (He may have been a family friend and/or he may have been a Doctor) Either way he lives nearby. They retire to his abode whereupon he tries the moves but not in an overt rapey way.
Just a totally inappropriate way. After their brief encounter (I think it was a once off encounter) the girl returns home whereupon after a brief conversation with her mother it becomes apparent the girl is overweight, unpopular and unattractive. HOWEVER, the girl gets a new found sense of confidence from the creepy encounter.
