Just wondering about it,
what's the money like?
What's the interview/s like?
If you had much experience of support work before hand?
Also what the training was like once hired?
If you'd recommend it basically :-)
How you find working from home?
What's the hours (if shift work is available/expected)

I'm in the middle of an interview process for the job at the moment. Received an email asking if I was interested in the position along with a list of requirements (internet speed, private area etc). I replied saying I was interested and they then arranged an online questionnaire style interview. It was weird as I was recorded while answering questions over a skype kind of app but there was no one on the other side.
A week after doing my technical questionnaire interview I received an e-mail scheduling a phone interview for tomorrow morning! Fingers crossed.

Pay seems decent, 23000 a year and that rises to 26000 after your probation period. Health insurance, pension plan and staff discounts. I've heard the job is quite intense but I'm used to working in a Customer Service role face to face so looking forward to having a break from them being able to throw stuff at you :pac:

Just curious what internet speeds do they want you to have?
What do they define as a private area? As in a room in your house or where your house is?

Good luck with the interview, please let me know how it goes. Since I posted this thread, I had also done the online tech assessment. Haven't heard anything since. I didn't enjoy it though, was rotten looking at myself talking!

What kind of questions did they ask in the technical interview? My girlfriend is waiting to hear back after she applied.

Filled in online form & uploaded cv.

Online tech assessment questions were varied, a lot of;
some one has trouble sending texts, name 3 things you would try/do?
A customer reports blank screen but can hear everything on computer operating normally, list 3 things you would try.
List 3 things that affect wifi?
What is RAM?
What is difference between ram and hdd?
Name 3 smart phone os's?

There was 33 questions, I felt I answered some well and embarrassingly couldn't answer 3 at all. But from what I read on 'glass door', apple are looking for more than knowledge, but also your approach to problems/being enthusiastic etc

I actually didn't apply for the specific job as far as I recall, I just uploaded my CV and and information to the Apple Jobs section of their site with my Apple ID. Then on the 8th of May I received a phone call from their recruiter. Just sitting here waiting for my phone interview now, hoping it will focus more on customer service than technical knowledge because I don't think I will be fit for any more technical questions after being asked to name three data or numerical analysis programs! I honestly had no clue :eek:

I found the rest of the tech questions okay, there was role-play style ones about customers contacting you with basic enough issues and then there was simple ones like name three apple products with a touch screen :rolleyes:. Yeah the internet speeds are actually quite low so I would be surprised if many people didn't have sufficient internet!

So my interview went great today guys!

He was an absolutely lovely fella and he told me at the end that he was more than happy to put me through to the next..and FINAL stages :cool:. Had to fill out a background check form online which takes two weeks to process, and I have a final Skype interview with a manager tomorrow! Hopefully will fly though these last bits. Training starts on the 23rd June and there's another date in July (think it's the 25th).

Definitely more customer focused with a few role playing style questions but nothing harder than the tech assessment anyway!

By conditions I meant things like hours, what rate overtime is paid at, sick pay, holidays, pension when you're staffed, that kind of thing.

To be honest I'm not 100% sure about a lot of that info. There is a pension plan of some sort and medical insurance. Hours can vary with the company's demand so I haven't been told everything but I was told I would probably be doing 4 week days and 1 day on the weekend. Shifts can be anytime between 8 in morning to 8 in evening as far as I know but at busy periods night work might be required. If I get any more info during the interview tomorrow I'll post it here!:)

There's no night time work in Apple even during the busy periods. The latest finish is 8:15. You'll be assigned 8hrs 15mins shifts *5 for the week. Pensions are available to sign up to once you're permanent.

8 am start, no shift allowance as there's no shift rotations as such

I assume weekend days are flat rate if they are calling it out as part of the working week. What rate are bank holidays paid then?
I take it you do one of these jobs (or have done) how do you find working at home?
Is there a high attrition rate?

I had passed the technical interview and the recruiter said he would get back to me soon. Its over a week and a half now and i've heard nothing back about a follow up interview or anything. Should I be worried?

Hi guys. Just thought I'd add my two cents. See if you guys have any idea what kinda schedule apple work on.

So I'm a student in GMIT doing comouter engineering. I fix computers and iphone screens and do web design to get through college)
Apple came in to give a talk about these part time AHA positions.
I applied about 2 months ago, heard from them on Tuesday, invited for digital interview via hirevue which I did today. (Technical assessment I presume) went really well, all the questions were really easy.

Sooo. ...
my question is, how long do they take to get back to you?
How many interviews am I to look forward to?

Anyone here actually get a job from them yet?

I did the tech assessment Thursday of last week & I got an email on Tuesday requesting my cv and an email on Wednesday setting up a telephone interview with HR for yesterday.
Immediately after yesterday's interview I was mailed an invite for a Skype interview with the hiring manager & a background check thingy. Moves fairly fast.....

Thanks for your reply. Wasn't expecting anything so quick but they emailed me today to run a speed test to confirm Internet speed so they could schedule a further interview.
I'm hoping this is the last one.
I'm really excited.
I've read the job can be very stressful and very number/quota driven but I've been a student for too long now and need to get back into the real world.
I'll keep posting about progress. Fingers crossed you guys
