Boy, facelifted FDs are still pretty expensive it seems. I thought it was only the Spirit R that was in double digits.

Rx-8's can be had cheap enough, if you buy carefully and do your research. Proper comfy inside.

And a rather fun thing. Especially when the needle reaches the top of the dial.

I'm beginning to thing the warning light I've got might've been caused by a loose fuel cap. It came within 3 litres of me adding 2T oil to the tank. (1 Litre to work, 1 Litre home - a weekend sitting when I added a little oil to the engine, then another litre or so at a fair bit of speed. That might've tripped it.

It's getting recall work done in the dealer's anyway on Thursday. I just hope to **** it's not something expensive like the cat.

There have been some isolated incidents of Insignia fires. In the incidents that we’ve had, we’ve identified different causes. In this particular case, because of the lack of remaining evidence it was impossible to get a conclusive result, and we can’t make a best guess in these rare scenarios. Can you share the causes? I'm sure potential buyers would like to be aware of this. Has there been any design changes to remedy any flaw that may exist?

I'm going to be honest here, Opel Ireland, MG have tried sending employees on to forums to do similar to what you're doing right now and it has back fired badly. I'm expecting the very same result here. There was clear evidence given in the consumer show last night as to the likely cause of the fire and with a number of cases presented by one assessor alone with recommendations that GM do something.

Actions to date have including doing nothing.

I know you're only the messenger but I have to ask if this is an account and action that has actually been approved by someone in Opel Ireland or have you just decided to sign up here to do this in order to impress?

It's a verified account so has to be company authorised. Company being opel ireland or whatever opels holding company in ireland is

I'm going to guess that this account was originally for an Opel experience day last year and possibly re-opened to deal with any questions. To be honest it's not a bad idea to have a representative easily contactable in this manner, it's a lot easier than trying to contact the distributor.

I haven't seen Opel denying anything here (on boards) - the question that was posed has been answered. If there was a specific question asked directly related to the issue it would be be more informative. I didn't catch the show last night so I don't know the detail on what it was about specifically myself.

I think it just adds fuel to the fire and gives it unnessecary attention and discussion (from their point of view).

Nobody would have continued talking about it today really. I really can't see how a manager, PR or marketing, would approve of such a thing.
