As far as I am aware, there are no restrictions on 'newbies' posting photos - I know I posted some on the Random thread the day I joined.
I could not give ' thanks' for a while but was allowed to post photos.

Thanks keps,but they've changed the format in recent weeks;you must have more than 50 posts now before you can post images,links,etc.
It's going to take me an age to reach 50 posts!

I got this fella in my mothers garden last summer.... there was babies too just born also my mother got shots of them like 2 weeks before I took this. This was taken in the countryside in wexford.

Love the spar pic. Probably my favourite bop.
As for built up areas- it's probably the best hunting grounds for a spar. With so many people feeding small garden birds these days the spars will be looking for them in the gardens.

Thanks Bonedigger, I use a bridge camera, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX200V. I think the main thing is trying to hold the camera steady.

Yeah,I use a SONY Cyber-shot myself,especially for the macro shots - it's ancient but takes great shots!In fact,it takes better macro shots than my Nikon D5100.I really need to buy myself a Nikor macro lens soon though.I bought a 300mm. zoom for the Nikon not long ago,but I'm kinda raging I didn't hold off an invest in a 400mm. instead.Enough about cameras and the like.Thanks again.

I forgot to say,I saw a stunning lime-green coloured crab spider for the first time in my garden only early this year - an amazingly beautiful looking thing!

Thrush nightingale. Tends to keep to heavy cover, but distinctive song gives him away.
