I use a map, it details all the safe/known paths through the piles of clutter and which pile contains what.

I lost a guy last week in a clutter fall when mapping out new routes through the "library".

Don't have kids. Also helps not to have wife. Both come with enormous amounts of 'stuff'.

I'm ruthless when it comes to throwing things out. Friends of mine are always saying that my house looks bare when they come around but i'd prefer the minimalist look to having a bunch of crap hanging the place around gathering dust. Nothing worse than having to move stuff to get at other stuff that you need to use.

Also, go digital. I don't own a single DVD or CD as i charity shopped a bunch of stuff about 2 years back. Saves a ridiculous amount of space and makes accessing things much more simple

I have too many clothes, find it hard to throw them out cause I "might" wear them again. I have a problem

For random clutter like post-it notes or calculators, I have a storage box - just a cheap thing from Dunnes - that I use for all that stuff. Living in a small apartment means a clutter-free life is a necessity, not a choice!

This reminds me, I need to clear out my wardrobe today. Urgh, effort.

If I don't know exactly where it's going to go in my house, I don't buy it. Simples.

I have a "stuff" press in the utility room, even that's not particularly untidy though, but in contains things like sharpies, and screwdrivers, and needles and thread and the likes.

I have a nice lady who comes to clean my house and if there are stuff and things out of place she leaves them on a little table in my kitchen until I put them away. She keeps my under control if I feel I'm losing it

I'm terrible at decluttering. When I was younger my sister would help me clear my wardrobe. She'd hold up an item and if I hesitated she'd get rid of it. It's the only way to do it if you're in any way indecisive.

I have a book case where the shelves are full of "useful stuff I may need some day".
As they are always visible I tend to actually use them rather than buying more stuff.
