How important is money to you?

I was reading a thread on here about problems people are having, and a couple of people stating that having no money was an issue. Other posters told them not to worry about it and that there are far more important things.

Do you agree with that? I certainly don't. I think my life would be miles and miles better if I didn't have to worry so much about money. From small things like being able to eat good food and go out for dinner or being able to treat myself to new clothes/shoes to bigger things like being able to travel more (my passion in life), go back to college and retrain and have the possibility of ever affording my own home. Even my health would be better because I could afford to see private specialists and sort out various issues. I can't think of a single issue that wouldn't be at least made better if I had more money.

What do you think?

People who say 'dont worry about money' tend to be rolling in it, god botherers or hippies.

Money means everything to me. With unlimited money I could give my family every opportunity i never had.This is just one example among a raft of other things money would afford me.

Yep im in agreement with you.
Ive been extremely broke to having plenty during the boom times to go on nice hols to buy lovely stuff too.
We are just about keeping the head above water now. Both of us work
Two children one on way and i see they are growing out of their clothes real quick.

My oldest hates me goin to work but my explanation to her is i need to go so we can have money to go to nice places. ( day trip here n there nothing exotic !)

I like having my own hard earned cash and would hate not to have my money.
I can buy myself the odd thing and get my hair coloured once every 6 weeks.- i just could not ask my husband to give me money so i could go to hairdressers .
He woud give it but i could not ask !!

Both mine and my familys heath take precedence. Money as good as it can be to have it their and available is great but if any of my loved ones were in bad health I would give up every last cent I have if I could to exchange it for their good health.

Money makes the world go around, I recently got a full time job and the quality of my life has improved drastically. From worrying about where I'm going to get money out of I now spend my days wondering how I'm going to spend it. It's great off on holidays in 6 weeks and I'm finally learning how to drive.

Having no money sucks ass big time.

My point is that money can greatly help bad health. You can access the best specialists, afford all the medication you need, eat really healthy food all the time (yes fruit and veg are cheap but other stuff isn't), go on holiday to relax, etc. Even health can be helped with money.

Money is certainly important overall. I'm sure people can argue over great pay/hate job versus crap pay/love job scenarios and all the levels in between but money makes life easier.

I'm at a stage where I'm comfortable for now. Comfortable of course is a relative term depending on the person. For me it means affording all bills (which include owning a car, rent & university loans) saving a reasonable amount each month, having enough disposable income for 1-2 foreign trips per year and a couple of relatively cheap meals/nights out each month.

A few years down the line if kids come that could well change but by then I'll likely have progressed further in my career so we'll see.

Money doesnt bring happiest particularly in Ireland. If you become wealthy even through hard work and determination. You will unfortunately will lose a lot of friends because of jealously. My best friend told me about how his parents did well for themselves, brought the large house in the nice area, big german luxury car, foreign holidays and sent him and his brothers to private schools. Over time people stopped speaking to them. Even his dads best friend brought his son to their house and said "take a look at how the other half live".

There is plenty of people without a pot to piss but love life. Sometimes a simplier life brings happiness.
