Some interesting observations.I always thought blue eyes where the least common in Ireland at least but not so worldwide it seems.

The most common eye colour seems to be grayish blue, though. Not typically blue (baby blue). Baby blue is very hard to come by, as it is the complete absence of pigmentation in the iris (so albinos don't have "red" eyes, but baby blues). The less pigments you have in your iris, the lighter your eyes will be. So I assume grayish blue eyes have at least some pigmentation in the iris.

Green eyes are quite rare as well. Rumour has it that that eye colour is caused by a "faulty" gene that adds different pigments to your iris which cause a reaction that is seen as the green in one's eyes. I don't know the exact details, but that is roughly what it comes down to. And this is genetic, so it usually turns up in certain families.

Not to mention that the eye colour is determined by several genes, which means that it is perfectly possible for two blue-eyed people to produce a brown-eyed child if each had a minority of brown-eye genes but gave all of their brown-eye genes to the child, giving the child a majority of brown-eye genes and because brown eyes are a dominant feature... well, you know the rest

My left eye

The rest of my family have blue eyes, I'm the only one with brown eyes.

Mine are green but there's a picture of me from baby infants and they are pretty blue in it.
My Dad has blue eyes and my Mam has green eyes.

My sister has cold grey eyes. There really is no warmth in them at all!

Wow the brown and green is so pretty! Jealous! There was a girl in a class of mine that had these amazing grey eyes, they were really arresting eyes to look at. I think my eyes are so boring! No one has ever commented on them being interesting /pretty!

Deep almost navy blue when well rested but when tired faded blue with bloodshot bits.

My eldest son has green/brown eyes that we always referred to as Sludge coloured but it depends on what he wears. If he is wearing green his eyes are bright green and if he is wearing brown they are deep brown.

Youngest has same blue as me.

Their dad has brown eyes.
