On the other hand I call almost everyone else "Darling" and get away with it.

I really really hate when anyone says "hun". Isn't that what the Germans were called by the Brits back in World War 1? "Jolly good show old boy, we just shot down some huns".

I never thought it bothered me, when I was with the person for a long period of time. I did however think it was kinda unoriginal as everyone's OH seems to be 'babe'.

Recently I was on a date (a third date) and was called babe. There was no more dates.

Yeh I do. Vast majority of the time it's warm and friendly.

A tiny few times it's been patronising or sleazy. I'd say two or three times in all. The countless other times when it has been nice cancels out those two or three incidents.

Oh no, not in Public. That makes me squirm when I hear couples like that. Same reason I refuse to venture out on Valentine's day.. the cheese is unbearable.

Thats the kinda joke about it, its on going... like when you drop in and say 'hey babes, sticking the kettle on?' and he goes 'would you ever fcuk off with that...' but with a smile... i think he gets a kick outta it cos when hes having his friendly snap about it, my mam gets the giggles so its stuck !

'sweetie' is my goto name for my little lady, although 'babe' slips out from time to time almost before I've realised. I'm not even keen on 'babe' myself so I don't even know where that came from.

I tend to get called 'sweetie' too, except when I'm in trouble, then it's 'HONEY!' spat out with barely disguised venom.

I say love all the time, or lovie, loveen along with dude, sh1tbox, ball bag...The list is endless, I rarely refer to friends as theirnames. OH has a good few "cute" names for me, but they are pretty unique..... Its for him to say my actual name,even during an arguement.

Hun does my vag in though.

My OH calls me baby, sweet cheeks, sugar tits, but babes is the most common. Every other female gets called love. I have long given up arguing that I should be love, and everyone else be babe. He claims it's because he's stuck in his Yorkshire ways! It doesn't bother me anymore. If he uses my name then it means that I'm in trouble!
