A large sink hole has appeared in the central reservation of the motorway M2 in England, forcing the motorway to close and resulting in traffic chaos.

The authorities are looking into it...

Up to about a year ago I very seldom heard of them bar the odd report of one occuring in far off places.

Now they seem to be popping (or down) up all over the place.

Swallowing cars at a museum in Kentucky and and that poor chap in Florida.

Even a piece of Tramore has caved in recently.

Its Mother Earth taking it revenge or its just something people are noticing and reporting more widely in this internet age - Florida is going to vanish into a multiple of sink holes as its made out of compressed sea-shells (Coquina) which dissolve under even the most dilute acidic rain.
