Most forgettable US State.

Which State of America do you think is most forgettable, uneventful or one that you just know feck all about?

I was doing a quiz on the Sporcle website yesterday and named all but one State. It was Pennsylvania. I wouldn't class it as an uninteresting one or anything, I just couldn't remember it.

As for ones I'd know little or nothing about? Nebraska would rank up there definitely.
Which of the 50* do you find unremarkable?

I think the parts of Arizona and Nevada that aren't urban are starkly beautiful. But Phoenix and Las Vegas are environmental abominations - Phoenix in particular.

I'm sure it is a lovely place, once your happy to tolerate more rain than what Ireland gets.

I think N. Dakota is getting a raw deal on this threa, for me its on of the most interesting politicaly. By some american standards its almost a "communist" state it has a state owned bank and milling industry. Farms also cannot be owned by corporations or banks, making repossesions almost impossible.
In spite of this its got the lowest unemployment and a growing economy, oh and Fargo was set there.

Yeah, the OH and I have been talking about moving to Portland, but I don't know if I can take the weather. Apparently they get 30% more rain than Dublin.

That said, it's way cheaper than living in California and Oregon is an interesting state politically. Plus they produce lots of delicious wine.

Fargo was set in Minnesota. Quite a distinctive accent they have up there...

Also a lot of employment opportunities in the oil fields. Good place to spend a year or two in and make some decent money.

Indeed it is Minnesota that dominates, but parts were shot in North Dakota, and the Fargo in question (where the hit-men are hired) is in North Dakota as well, so there is a bit of a North Dakotan claim on it.

Between South Beach, Disneyworld, and hanging chads, it's kind of hard to forget about Florida. I'd guess that is one of the few states that most non-Americans may actually be familiar with.
