As to the twitch thing, I would rather be able to stream my gaming than view a stream from a console. The PS3 has a youtube app I never use as I prefer to youtube on the PC or tablet. I can't see myself sitting down in front of the living room, turning on my console and my TV to watch youtube (or twitch) but it would be nice to upload/stream to them from my console.

MS cloud computing shows some real potential
what's the question again? oh yeah, PS4 for safe bet tried and tested X1 for potential of something fresh and innovative

Secondly, what if you don't have access to to a PC or tablet, only the xbox one in your bedroom or living room? I watch a lot of twitch when I can, apart from when I'm gaming but since I got xbox one I've been able to play and watch at the same time. Usually when I play fifa tbh. Some people here seem to think if something doesn't appeal to them then it's just crap and useless, plenty of other people will make use of it.

I don't see a huge amount of risk in x1. it's a very good piece of kit. they have a vision and it was never meant to be completed on launch day. it will adapt and evolve over time. that's the point of it.
DishonestPikey wrote: » but Ms are not struggling, this has been a successful launch for them selling more than the 360 at launch The numbers are warped because Ms have only released in 13 countries versus 48 for Ps4 but Sony still has Japan to go, there's a good few million in the bag

The next launch will reportedly see the Xbox One in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Japan, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden and Taiwan in April. Then, Microsoft will reportedly launch the system in China, Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Israel, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, South Africa, Turkey and United Arab Emirates in October.
sarumite wrote: » I should have mentioned, struggling in the poll Well if the PS4 is the tried and tested option, then my take on what you were saying is that the XBone is effectively the untried and untested option with lots of potential. You can play it saf and buy something you know works (PS4) or be a bit more daring and buy something of an unknown quantity that could be something special (XBone). From your post, the only conclusion I can come to is that there is more risk in buying the Xbone, but potentially more reward?
DishonestPikey wrote: » I honestly haven't thought about it that deeply I never for one second stopped and thought x1 is a bit of a risk I better go for ps4 just to be safe.
gaynorvader wrote: » Honestly, if 25% of the market buy the X1, that's probably still a good few million sold. Buying X1 is not really a risk, I think the PS4 offers better value, but if you really love MS or hate Sony or want all the media center stuff, then obviously the X1 is where to go.
sarumite wrote: » I was responding specifically to: "PS4 for safe bet tried and tested X1 for potential of something fresh and innovative" If the PS4 is a safe bet, then what is the XBone?

gaynorvader wrote: » It's still pretty safe tbh. PS4 has an equal potential for something fresh and innovative IMO, the problem with the Kinect as far as I see it is if you use it, you can't really use the controller, meaning it probably won't be used. Part of what made the Wii so successful is that motion controls were the controller. You might get some anaemic Kinect controls added in to some exclusive games (mini games in Fable is one place I see it being used) and probably one or two really cool uses of it, but I'd imagine it's going to more or less go the way of the six axis. Unless they pair it with Oculus Rift-like VR goggles, then we could really see some interesting stuff with it. tl;dr: It's too early to tell which console is going to be innovative and both are "safe bets".
