Each owner has it on average every 6 years... there are cars posted here that have changed owners in the space of a week.
Bangernomics are obviously bangers for a reason, to tie people over for the time being (at least this is my interpretation of it) and then flog it on when something better pops up.
Too much knit picking goes on sometimes with the cars that are posted.

The previous owner to me made a mistake in buying it as he thought he could insure it as a classic on his policy. The car isn't 25 yet so he couldn't insure it as a classic and had to let it go. He used to work as a Citroen car salesman and bought a great car with that knowledge, handy for me! The Citroen garage that serviced the car at Christmas wanted to buy it but I hadn't thought of selling it at the time. I called him yesterday but the timing is off now as he has money tied up in new stock. I've had a few inquiries from 'collectors' who could store it for a year and sell it at a profit when it's 25; I might have considered that if i had a storage solution but I'd rather just let it go. I've had a different car every 3 months, since my E30 went into project mode, I suppose I'm buying and selling cars on a whim, just for the fun of driving different motors. Does that explain things?

That's a bit odd. Most of the insurers that do classic insurance will do so for any car over 20 years old (as a second car). Sometimes even younger.

Not on his policy, apparently! If I was in his situation, I would have switched to an insurer that would have covered it but at that point, I just wanted the car and didn't question it. Maybe he didn't want to switch, there was a 'proper' classic and a family wagon outside his house.

Guys make comments on cars here all the time, like its had the bumper repaired etc. I made a comment as the car was local to me, I said it had changed hands a lot lately, not in 24 years but lately. The reality is the car was for sale in roscommon, a guy in ballina bought it(he often as cars for sale) didn't keep it long as in 4-5 weeks, then the op has it a very short time. All say that they have their reasons for their short ownership. I respect that but I am stating the facts. Are we not allowed to state relevant facts now on this forum. Nah, I want a diesel one. Not for economy or anything but I just prefer the sound it makes.
That and the funky looks, funky suspension, and sofa seats.

Having spent a few days looking for a car for myself to buy I must say it's not easy. For most people I suppose travelling more than about a 30 mile radius from their home is not really feasible at this end of the market with collecting kids from school ect ect.
When you narrow the search down to something to your own county or so it's not easy to find something nice.

Get a Xantia diesel so, very reliable and still has enough quirks in it. BX's are seriously rare on the ground, too often an uneconomic repair for the suspension when it gets into banger teritory.

Nah, xantias are too common, only interested in a bx or xm.

There's uneconomic repairs and then theres stuff you will do despite the cost if it is not your main car.

Price is including some service costs I incurred over the past 3 months and some recommissioning costs the PO incurred also. I think €1750 is a fair price for what you are getting

If you want to have a better chance of selling that car then do a proper advert.

List all the repairs and servicing that you and the previous owner have done on the car, include a photo of any receipts if you have them.

Give the car a good wash and polish, it looks scruffy. Then drive the car somewhere decent (not beside the shed out the back) and take a few good shots of it. Forget the view of the car from the front that looks like it's been taken from the perspective of a 2 year old you're just about to run over. Take photos from your own eye level view.

Then throw up a proper description of the car and see how it goes.

Funny that you mentioned that, I did some fresh pics yesterday, the car is wet not polished but you can see that it's in good condition. The interior pics show that as well. They're in my photo bucket folder here: BX Pics.

In fairness it is a cheap car for what it is and really its a classic but at that money its a very interesting Bangernomic. If you don't want to look like a skinflint then its an interesting buy as Its so much better than your average corolla ect.
