Anyways a got a message from my sister with my mother going into a fcuking raging fit blaming me for the high bill because I charge my ipod overnight about 2 or 3 times a week. 4 at the very most. Never mind that it's right after xmas, it was middle of winter. An extra home for the holidays. All 3 of my siblings have tablet devices but it's just me and my ipod that caused the hike. Would an ipod cause should a hike?
SpaceTime wrote: » Actually it will cost a lot less than a few cents each time. An 8 hour charge (using 5W of power) will cost you about €0.0076 So, not even 1 cent. One 8 hour charge every day (unlikely to take that long) would only cost you €2.77 per YEAR. In reality probably half that as the phone doesn't consume anything like 5W continuously as it's charging. I'd guetimate about €1.50/year to charge your iPod, iPhone and maybe up to €3 per year to charge your iPad. Sorry, but whoever's mother was blaming the iPod on the bill needs a lesson in basic laws of physics and power metering! What's more likely are things like extra runs of the electric shower, which uses about 1900 times more power than your iPhone charger. Maybe extra loads of laundry, the dishwasher running more, more lights on, more heat on and most importantly at Xmas : the oven(s) and cookers are used way more than usual.
