Scum terrorise older man to moving into a home...

2 20 year olds and a 21 year old....what can we do to stop scum like this terrorising people....3 times they robbed the same poor isolated man. And they will probably get away with it too..

Three men have pleaded guilty to robbing Mr McMahon.

Joseph Lernihan (21), of Finnanon Park, Mullagh, pleaded guilty to robbing Mr McMahon at Drumellihy West, Cree, on February 21 and 25, 2012, with Shane Donnellan (20), of Clohanbeg, Cree, Kilrush, and Noel Garry (20), of Tullycrine, Kilrush, pleading guilty to the robbery of Mr McMahon on February 25, 2012.

yes they might get slightly lighter sentences for pleading guilty, but they will get sentenced in accordance with the law
No matter how much of a scumbag somebody is, there is a limit to the sentence that can be imposed, would you have a judge risk getting himself barred for trying to impose a longer sentence?

you see I do agree with appropriate sentencing...but here if you look at all the facts...repeated aggravated burglary...assault...i am not sure exactly what the name of the other crimes would be.. If you add up the sentences for all those and impose them it is sufficient. However, we do see and it is proven time and time again, that this will not happen. Ok they wont "get away with it" but too often they do not feel the full penalty and the man they attacked has his life permanently changed...

Sentencing on March 3rd. Predictions? One will get 6 months with 3 yrs suspended, the others will get 3 yrs suspended each. Something like that anyway. If it was a judges house robbed like that, you'll know the sentence.

The first and most important thing that is needed for those three is castration, this will put a stop to more evil scum being bred by them. But our "civilised" society where their evil crimes will go practically unpunished would never sanction that.

I read that a while ago and it pissed me right off. Hopefully they get a proper sentence but i somehow doubt it.

Oh for sure, the law is a joke - I'm not going to deny it. But I'm more interested in how these horrible situations come about. I've been subjected to some awful things myself. Another poster suggested that these things happened to me because I was asking for it. Which is bobbins, of course. I'm seriously interested in how people like the perps function (or dysfunction) and what drives them. And of course, the moral outrage that follows and the inevitable calls for murder, violent retribution, sexual assault and so on. I wonder what drives those depraved responses? I imagine it's a feeling of impotence, helplessness?

Indeed. It's investing in the future. Make them better, find the root cause for such behaviour, break the cycle. Instead of sending them out as hardened criminals, you have someone who feels their self worth and usefulness to the world.
