I've a Canadian friend who explained and demo'd some hardcore dancing to me years ago. He said he was once at a Converge gig and there were tonnes of happy folk dancing about like in the video. I explained that a Converge gig on this side of the Atlantic will probably cost you a few broken ribs!

Neither of us could believe the difference!

Most concerts I've gone to hardcore dancing is likely to get you punched. People want to mosh, not have some jackass waving his arms like a windmill and wind up hitting people in the face or something.

I've never met anybody who doesn't hate the hardcore dancers. Call me a lunatic conspiracy theorist but I'm pretty certain that there's actually a secret order of hardcore dancers (probably only about 5 members in Ireland) who go to gigs ten nights a week just to hardcore dance and ruin the gig for everybody else. It's basically terrorism.
