Regarding the verbal reasoning example test provided to applicants - it seems very, very difficult in comparison to similar material one would get from a private company.

I thought I wasn't too bad at verbal reasoning until I tried this free example (which, by the way, is free on the cut-e website for anyone to try). I think I've tried it around 50 times and can only manage 4 out of 6 correct.

Did anyone else find it difficult?

Most people on this site have found it difficult. If that's the case then most of the 25,000 people doing it will find it difficult also.

I think that practice tests seem to be easier then the actual exam. I hope I'm wrong and there are a few easy ones thrown in.

Think of it this way. If you find it difficult but your still practising, you've got a much better chance then the person who hasn't even bothered to check there emails.

It's strange with the tabs anyway, I've never seen that before. It's usually just one or two paragraphs. There's a method to making it easier for yourself anyway!

I got 2 then 3 out of 6.

I don't like the way it dose not explain the answers. The tabs are a load of cock and bull to be honest. More wasted time moving around the screen with your mouse.

If you get 3 then you get 3 wrong and with the negative marking that leaves you with 0. Very tough!

Yes there is. People are saying the tests are tough and I agree. But the point I was making was that you can make it easier or harder for yourself depending on what approach you take.
With 25k people competing with me, I won't be helping anyone with advice! Especially some of the snakes on here.
It's not rocket science anyway, sit down and think about how the best way to approach the tests is, practice and practice and practice and soon you will learn new things!!

I know one person who decided to read every single tab first in the verbal reasoning before even looking at the questions. I would have thought this would have been common sense not to do that. Time was up after 1 question haha.
I'll give you one tip, don't do that anyway!!

Woop, got 6/6 for the abstract on the first go. Got 5/6 for the verbal reasoning on the second.

Dunno why but I thought there was 3 minutes per question and I ran out of time on the first round.

Hate to burst your bubble but a child would do the abstract. Did you get 5 right and 1 wrong in verbal or just 5 right and one un answered?

I didn't mean to slate anyone or come off as a know it all, I don't think I'm smarter than anyone else, everyone knows that the abstract is simple. In fact 5 out of 6 is better than I have been getting in the verbal, I was just curious as to weather or not the 6 question was unanswered or wrong.
