MORRISSEY has sparked outrage online when he compared eating animals to paedophilia
The controversial artist was answering questions from fans on True-To-You.net. when the online community were alerted to the outrageous comment.
The Smiths frontman was asked by a fan what motivated him to stop eating meat - to which he replied: "I see no difference between eating animals and paedophilia.
"They are both rape, violence, murder. If I'm introduced to anyone who eats beings, I walk away."
He then used an example of introducing yourself to someone in a club as someone that enjoys "throat-slitting".
He said: "If you were in a nightclub and someone said to you 'Hello, I enjoy bloodshed, throat-slitting and the destruction of life,' well, I doubt if you'd want to exchange phone numbers."
The rock star, who has been a huge supporter of animal rights campaign PETA, also took the time to lay into other celebrities on the website.
He went on to label former Blind Date host Cilla Black a baby eater and questioned why TV chef Jamie Oliver "doesn't stick one of his children in the microwave".
After explaining Cilla Black had appeared on a cooking show making a lamb dish, he slammed the idea that eating a baby of any species was wrong.
He said: "Since a lamb is a baby, I wondered what kind of mind Cilla Black could possibly have that would convince her that eating a baby is OK."
The singer-songwriter went on to say the Government should ban any 'flesh-food' adverts and meat-eating on the TV.
One of his strangest comments came in March last year when he defended the use of animals being used as fashion.
He said: "The rhino is now more or less extinct, and it's not because of global warming or shrinking habitats. It's because of Beyoncé's handbags."
