Trust me, those diesel Smarts are not economical at all.
The tank is very small, we had one as a rental a while back in Italy and it was doing about 300km (barely) to a tank

Since when did the size of a fuel tank have a negative effect on economy

Without knowing the size of the tank there is no way to work it out.

Oh yeah and 0-60 in 20 seconds.

DPF (pretty sure they have one) and common rail would put me off further.

Without knowing the size of the tank there is no way to work it out.

I believe it's a 10 gallon tank.
I meant that with it's small tank (filling up more frequently) and poor performace the car was very uneconomical.
You would have to floor the nuts off of it to get it to move.

are you sure about that? As far as i can remember my last import was nct'd based on date of registration in ireland rather than it's original date of registration.

Thats the way my old festy was done, nct was based on it was regged here in august despite original registration in the north was in april

Tank size has nothing to do with mpg, only a positive effect actually.......because if you have a small tank, therefore less weight for the engine to propel, therefore making it more economical. :P

Probably I should have been clearer, I meant that the small tank gave the impression it was thirsty due to stopping quite often to fill it back up.
Leaving the small tank part aside, the car is still very uneconomical
