Wow I never knew they made a diesel. I struggle to see the market for it, I mean surely the petrol is very economical for most users and how much motorway driving would you do in that thing?
Strangely tempted though!

Most likely the car was imported after it's fourth birthday in an odd number year. It would have had to be tested after import, giving it a two year NCT. If it was tested at 9 years old it would still get a two year NCT.

nvr noticed that. But I suppose given it's auto and the size of it, it wouldn't make that much difference.

The only difference with adverts is it has a comments section, so we can all see the offers. This is the sort of dung that's usually done by text or private number when selling on done deal etc

Irrespective why do people make such a big deal about this when selling a car. The way I'd look at it would be that they were lucky enough never to get a puncture. Does not particularly say a lot about how the car has being maintained.

Pretty rare now as you say - a lot of the Mk 2 Golfs that are left are the ones made after late 87 with the on piece glass front window/built in mirrors and the wipers set up for wind hand drive.

Seen an 87 3 door (pre facelift - so same has car pictured here) about 6 months ago though

Also, my Dad has ordered his new car, and I've urged him to sell his current car privately. 1998 Merc E240 auto, leather and alloys etc, owned since day 1, 90k miles, MB service history, rust-free, used for nothing more than carrying golf clubs about the place. Expecting about €1k ono for it. Available from the end of Febuary.
